Season 5 Episode 2

The second episode of Season 5 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on FOX, on February 5, 2009. On that episode, the chefs competed in their first team challenge, that night’s service came down to the wire, and one chef made an ultimate decision after getting injured, leading to an extremely emotional elimination.

Intro

Back in the dorms, J was not happy that Seth survived elimination and believed he was lacking both skills and desire, compared to Will. Meanwhile, Coi apologized to Lacey for arguing with her before service, but Lacey tried to argue that she lacked the experience her team had. However, LA was still upset that Lacey quit in the middle of prep, and wanted her gone from the red team. While Lacey admitted that she might be the weakest red chef, she did not want to quit.

Team Challenge

The next morning at 5:49 AM, a marching band came in the dorms and played loudly, and the contestants woke up. Sous Chefs Scott and Gloria ordered the chefs to get downstairs, and they were led outside to find Ramsay next to multiple garbage bags. Ramsay called last night’s service way beyond disappointing and that he expected more from them. Then, he showed the chefs the garbage bags full of food that was wasted last night, and they were concerned that they would have to sort through the trash like in previous seasons. However, Ramsay revealed that there was no time for it as they just received two crates of scallops. Wanting them to learn how to respect their products, Ramsay had both teams go to their crates, and gather all the scallops into their colored buckets. While collecting the scallops, Colleen accidentally fell into the her team’s crate, but managed to get herself out.

Once they collected the scallops, both teams brought their buckets back in the red kitchen, and Ramsay revealed that they would be using them for their next challenge, which was the Scallop Cleaning Challenge. He gave a quick demonstration on how to properly clean them, and told the contestants that they would have to clean them to his standards. Because the red team had an extra person, Ramsay told Andrea to sit out so the teams would be even at 7 each. Both teams had 15 minutes to properly clean as many scallops as they could and the team with the most points would be the winner. During the cleaning, Lacey called it the most disgusting thing she has ever done, and everyone else was struggling with opening up their scallops, which shocked Ramsay as it meant almost none of them shucked before.

Once the fifteen minutes were over, the women went up first. Carol got the women off to a good start with all eight of her scallops accepted, but Paula could only get one out of her ten scallops accepted. Coi was able to score six scallops and Colleen scored five out of her six scallops. LA got all eight of her scallops accepted and Ji got four accepted. Lacey was the final woman up, and when Ramsay revealed she sliced one of her scallops three times, she had a shocked expression, which Ramsay mimicked. She could only get three of her six scallops accepted. The women finished with 35 points.

The men were up next. Ben could only get three out of his eleven scallops but Danny got nine out of his ten scallops accepted. Giovanni gave the best overall individual performance by scoring an impressive thirteen out of fifteen scallops and Robert kept it going with five of his scallops accepted. Charlie and Seth were only able to get two and three accepted respectively leaving the score tied at 35. J was the last man up and sent up his six scallops. All but one were rejected, and the men won the challenge 36-35.

Reward

The men went on a helicopter ride to Catalina Island which excited them. Before leaving, Ramsay called Robert over to his office, and unfortunately, the helicopter insurance could not allow anyone over 300 pounds. Since Robert weighed 400 pounds, he had to take a ferry to the island. While Robert was on the ferry, the rest of the men arrived at the Catalina Island and went on a submarine trip. During the trip, Seth revealed he knew a lot about Ramsay such as his birthday being the next day, where he was born, his recent cookbook released, and that he knew Ramsay had four kids and knew their names. Those comments concerned J and Giovanni as it made Seth look like a stalker. By the time Robert made it, the reward was over much to his dismay.

Punishment

The women had to prep a raw bar for the following night’s service. Lacey, dejected by their loss, cried in her bed, despite the worst performer being Paula. Ji tried to comfort her and urged her not to give up, but Lacey still felt that she was not cut out for the competition. When the women got ready for punishment, Lacey did not want to go as she claimed she was not feeling well, which infuriated Carol who chewed her out for her attitude. Sous Chef Gloria had the women shuck more scallops but when she asked where Lacey was, Carol retorted that they were stronger without her. Three hours into their punishment and Lacey was still not present which continued to anger her teammates, primarily Andrea and Carol. Six hours into the punishment, Lacey decided to come downstairs and help, but by that time, the women were disgusted by her attitude and wanted her gone.

Before Service

The next day, Lacey had a new attitude as she wanted to make a new start with prep. During prep, Ji slipped on some oil and sprained her ankle. The medic took a look at it, and with Ji in pain, she doubted if she could do that night’s service. Despite the pain, Ji decided to continue prepping for service despite the concern from LA.

Once both kitchens were ready, Ramsay had both teams lined up. Ramsay reminded them that they were having a raw bar for that night’s service and every customer would be getting a plate as it would give both kitchens a little more time to get the hot appetizers out. Ji informed him about her injury and that she would like to participate in service, which Ramsay allowed. Ramsay decided that Robert and Paula would be managing the raw bar for their respective teams. Once everyone was at their stations, Ramsay had Jean-Philippe open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

While both teams got their first ticket, Robert and Paula were getting their raw bar ready. Jean-Philippe noticed that Robert was sweating, and Robert reminded him that he was 400 pounds. Carol told Ramsay that she burned the garlic for the first risotto and her second one was stuck to the pan, leading Ramsay to ask Carol if she was stupid. As Carol and Andrea tried to refocus, Ramsay went to the blue kitchen to check on Charlie’s risotto, but it was undercooked, with no mascarpone cheese or ham. Then, Ramsay told Ben to help Charlie out, since the latter never made a risotto before. Meanwhile, Robert was sending up the raw appetizers to his tables and was praised by Jean-Philippe for his tableside presence, even explaining the tattoo on his right arm to some customers.

Forty-five minutes into dinner service, the red kitchen were getting appetizers out. However, Ramsay soon noticed that Colleen had already cooked scallops in the pan, and warned her that they were going to turn out overcooked. Ramsay had Lacey come over to show Colleen how to cook them while snarkily telling Colleen that Lacey was not going to charge $300 for it. He also told Ji that her ankle pain was the same as his head. In the blue kitchen, Ben sent up a new risotto, and Ramsay said it was delicious. In the red kitchen, Lacey sent over scallops that were cooked nicely, and Ramsay showed Colleen the difference.

One hour and a half into service, and the blue team was getting their appetizers out. Seth and Charlie brought over their lobster spaghetti, but Ramsay noticed that they forgot the lobster and ordered both of them to wake up. The red team was getting entrées ready, but Ramsay noticed that Colleen forgot the John Dory for the order. Not only that, Colleen’s salmon was both black on the bottom and raw in the middle. Then, Ramsay accused Colleen of not actually being a culinary instructor and that she was robbing people, but Colleen argued that she was a teacher. After two more of her salmon turned out black, Ramsay lost his patience and demoted her to the raw bar while ordering Lacey to get on the fish station and brought Paula back into the kitchen to help Coi on the meat station. Back in the blue kitchen, the men were ready to send out their entrées, and Danny’s lamb was praised for being spot on.

Two and a half hours into service, the blue team was able to get out entrées because of Danny’s performance on the meat station. Back in the red kitchen, Paula checked on Ji to see if she was okay, but Ji told her that she wanted to focus on service which made LA very impressed with Ji’s determination. Giovanni sent up his salmon to the pass, but it turned out to be raw and Ramsay chewed him out for it. Despite that, both teams were continuing to push out food, and were near the end of service. Ramsay gathered both teams and told them that the men had four tables left while the red team had five tables left. That led him to state that the first team to finish their tickets would be the winner. With a boost of determination, both teams pushed their entrées out. Eventually, both teams had only one ticket left each, but Carol stalled the red team when she was not ready, leaving the blue team to send their final table of entrées out and were declared the winners. Immediately after service, Ji limped to the back hall to see the medic again as her foot was swollen. While Ji felt like a burden by that, the rest of the women said she did great and they would not send her home that night.

Post-Mortem

When the teams were lined up, Ramsay praised Ji for her courageous efforts that night and the fact that she did not give up despite the pain. Then, he turned to Colleen and told her that people who cannot cook should just teach, but she disagreed, stating that Ramsay made her nervous. However, Colleen’s arguments annoyed her teammates and Ramsay said that she was giving him a headache every time he looked at her. Ramsay then told the red team to decide on two people for elimination.

While Ji was with the medical staff, the rest of the red team went up to the dorms to discuss matters, with Colleen knowing that she was a definite nominee. Despite Lacey helping Colleen early that night, Carol still felt that Lacey was not fit to run a kitchen due to her not helping out at the previous punishment. However, Lacey argued that Carol should be nominated for her mistakes that service, which Andrea agreed with.

Elimination

Andrea wheeled a now wheelchair confined Ji up to the line for elimination. LA revealed that Colleen was the first nominee and Lacey was the second. After listening to both their pleas, Ramsay was about to announce his decision, but before he could, Ji raised her hand, and announced that despite wanting to be in Hell’s Kitchen, she felt that her injury would be a hindrance to the red team, and volunteered to leave. Andrea tried to interject that even an injured Ji was better than both Colleen and Lacey, but Ji was absolute in her decision. Ramsay decided to honor Ji’s request and told Colleen and Lacey to get back in line. Ramsay soon came up to Ji and while he praised her for her talent, he admitted that it would not be fair to let her continue while she was in a great amount of pain, but allowed Ji to keep her jacket as a symbol of her courage and pride. As Andrea wheeled Ji out, the entire blue team gave Ji a standing ovation and Charlie held the door for her while Ji told the red team to do well. Before dismissing the rest of the chefs, Ramsay told them to pick up on Ji’s courage and use it. Ji received the burning picture sequence at the end of the episode.

Ramsay’s comment: “Ji showed great courage. Unfortunately, her injury got in the way of her dream. She had a chance to win this, but sadly we will never, ever know.”

My Opinion

Both service was already but could do better. Colleen and Lacey were the wrost two chefs in the kitchen. With Colleen to go but Ji went out with a injury. So my comment is the same as Ramsay.

My comment: Ji showed great curage. Unfortunately, her injury got in the way of her dream. She had a chance to win this, but sadly we will never, ever know.”

Season 5 Episode 1

The first episode of Season 5 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on FOX, on January 29, 2009. On that episode, the sixteen new chefs were introduced, the signature dish challenge occurred, and the opening service became a train wreck.

Intro

The episode began with a recap of the first four seasons, mentioning some notable moments, and recalling the past winners of those seasons. Season 1 winner Michael Wray, Season 2 winner Heather West, Season 3 winner Rock Harper, and Season 4 winner Christina Machamer.

300 chefs arrived at Hell’s Kitchen, and met Jean-Philippe and Ramsay himself. Both of them selected the chefs randomly, and of the 300 chefs, only 16 were chosen to compete in that season.

Signature Dish Challenge

After the selection, the sixteen chefs immediately got to work on their signature dishes, that would be judged by Ramsay. The first dish presented was Carol’s roulade veal with caramelized onions, and it was praised for being delicious. Will made a rabbit two ways, braised and grilled, and while Ramsay liked the taste, it was criticized for its poor presentation. Ji’s dish was a miso sautéed Chilean sea bass, and it was praised for tasting great with Ramsay stating it was almost like she had 15 years’ experience rather than the four years she told him. Robert’s potato and truffle wrapped sea bass was cooked well but had a disgusting sauce. Lacey’s chicken and blackberries were spat out, with Ramsay saying that somebody would come and eat it, but vomit straight after. Danny’s Mahi Gone grilled bananas were criticized for its poor creation and Ramsay suggested to Danny that he must put the idea back up his ass. Giovanni was criticized for his poor rice on his dish, Charlie’s dish was compared to a Ferris wheel and called a joke, LA’s fish and chips were deemed terrible, and J’s dish got an “F”. Colleen’s dish was a smoked chicken enchilada, and she revealed that she was a culinary instructor that charged $300, despite not having been to culinary school. However, Ramsay compared the dish’s appearance to a diaper and said it tasted like crap. Colleen argued that she also taught manners, which led Ramsay to retort “Okay, please Ms. Manners, fuck off back in line”. After that, Andrea’s dish was praised for its flavor, Coi’s dish was perfectly cooked, and Paula’s dish was seasoned beautifully. By that point, it became clear that the women were the team to beat, but there were two dishes left to taste. Seth’s dish was up next. He made a Cinnamon crusted rack of lamb with an aubergine ratatouille. However, Ramsay found the ratatouille too sweet due to the honey used on it and called it the worst dish he ever tasted in his life. When Seth giggled about it, Ramsay threatened to eliminate him immediately. Finally, Ben’s pan-seared pecan duck was the last dish to be judged, and it was praised for looking attractive and nice. Ramsay deemed it the best dish from the men’s team.

Team Names

Ramsay revealed that the winner of that season would become the head chef of a restaurant at the Borgata Hotel & Casino, in Atlantic City, which would be next to some of the best-known chef’s restaurants such as Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck, with a salary of $250,000.Then, Ramsay told the chefs that Hell’s Kitchen would open the following night, and based on their signature dishes, they were the best to come into the competition so far. So, he expected that opening night to be the best ever. Then, Ramsay dismissed the chefs and asked them to come up with a dynamic team name. The chefs made it to the dorms, and looked around while getting to know each other. The blue team got together to come up with their team name, and eventually decided on “Blues Brothers”, while the red team struggled on a name.

Before Service

The next morning, the contestants came down to their kitchens and began prep for dinner service. A few minutes in, Lacey’s attitude already started to piss off her teammates when she stated she did not want to be on a station until she knew where everyone else was, and her constant complaints while prepping did not help. Then, she left during the middle of prep and went back up to the dorms, declaring she was quitting, which angered her team even more. In the blue kitchen, Seth showed his lack of experience working in a kitchen, and asked a lot of questions while barely doing anything. That led Giovanni to call him useless and told him to pay attention. Lacey soon decided to come back to the red kitchen, but LA was still disgusted with her decision to leave.

Ten minutes before service began, Ramsay had both teams lined up and asked what their team names were. The red team said “Team Saffron” but Colleen stated she liked “Spice Racks” more, so Ramsay had them change the name to that. The blue team called themselves “Blues Brothers” which Ramsay admitted he liked. Then, Ramsay noticed that sixteen chefs was too much, and asked one person from each team to volunteer for a task. Those people were Giovanni and Carol. They were assigned as waiters for that night’s service, which neither one was excited about. After, Ramsay turned to Charlie and told him to get to the dorms to trim his beard, as he claimed he did not want a complaint about a “6-inch ginger pubic hair in someone’s crème brûlée”.

While Jean-Philippe was briefing Carol and Giovanni on their waiter roles, Coi asked Lacey for some help on the soufflés. But, the two of them argued about Lacey leaving for most of the red team’s prep. Ramsay saw what was happening and Coi told him that the dessert station was fucked up, but Ramsay had to defuse another argument and ordered them to get a grip. Then, Ramsay told Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen before another fight occurred.

Dinner Service

Giovanni and Carol began working as waiters, and while Carol had no problems, Giovanni struggled on his role when he could not describe what polenta was. Jean-Philippe reminded Giovanni that he was representing the blue team that night, so he should not panic. Carol sent over her first ticket for her team, but the red team did not respond initially until they were pushed to. Twenty minutes into service and Giovanni finally got the blue team’s first tickets to his team. Robert started loudly repeating the appetizer order in the middle of Ramsay’s call out, and after being forced to call it out, Ramsay threatened to send Robert to a hot boiling bath if he would do it again. The first scallops that Lacey sent to the hot plate were raw, and Ramsay told her that she did not have her gas on. Ben and Robert sent up their first spaghetti order, but it turned out raw as well. Colleen was getting her risotto ready, but Ramsay found out she put mascarpone cheese in it when it was not needed. After that, a power outage occurred in the entire restaurant. Despite the blackout, the ovens were still working, and both teams continued cooking. Ramsay found Danny’s scallops on the hot plate which were overcooked, and later yelled at him when he talked back, even threatening him with elimination.

Soon afterwards, the whole power went off, and Ramsay told Jean-Philippe that they could not cook in the dark, and would have to apologize to the customers for the delay. However, Carol was still serving wine to the customers in order to keep them happy. In the blue kitchen, Robert told Danny to keep his words to himself and never argue with Ramsay again. Twenty minutes later, the power came back. Ramsay gathered both teams up and told them to put their bad start behind. In the red kitchen, Ramsay saw that Colleen was about to make a new pasta dish in a dirty pan. After disbelievingly remarked that she taught cooking for a living, he showed her multiple clean pans that she did not see before. In the blue kitchen, Ben and Robert were finally sending out appetizers, but in the dining room, Giovanni forgot which customers ordered which appetizer, much to Jean-Philippe’s annoyance.

Two hours into dinner service, the blue team began working on entrées. Seth and J were ready with their lamb entrée, but Will burnt the gnocchi garnish, forcing a stall. Colleen was cooking way more spaghetti than needed and was told by Ramsay that fewer spaghetti in the pot would cook faster. Ramsay soon found pasta in the bin and ordered another spaghetti. Seth sent up his lamb, but Sous Chef Scott revealed to Ramsay that he sliced the lamb when it was still raw, seared the chops and they were mangled, causing Ramsay to chew Seth out for his blunder, giving him the nickname of “Forrest”, referring to Forrest Gump.

Two and a half hours into service, and Colleen finally got her spaghetti properly cooked and sent it along with the risotto. However, Ramsay found it was looking odd, tasted and spat it out. Then, he revealed that she used sugar instead of salt, and called it the worst risotto he ever tasted in his entire cooking career. Will continued to struggle on the garnish station, which caused a big stall on entrées. Robert came to help him, but Ramsay noted that Charlie and Robert were on the garnish station, and Will was on “Planet Cuckoo”. Three hours into service, barely any of the entrées have been served, and impatient customers eventually left. After witnessing that, Ramsay decided to switch off both kitchens.

Post-Mortem

When both teams lined up, Ramsay said that their service was embarrassing and stated that both teams were equally weak. In order to pick a winning team, Ramsay went through the comment cards based on the service. Carol had an 88% rating above average from the customers, while Giovanni was told that over 90% of his customers thought his performance was below average. Therefore, the blue team was declared the losers, and Ramsay told the men to agree on two nominees for elimination.

Back in the dorms, the blue team got together to discuss. Danny picked Will as the worst performer of that night, and Will decided to nominate himself. Charlie believed that Seth was the weakest chef that night, but Seth argued he thought he did great, despite Ben and J’s objections. Seth pointed out Giovanni and asked him what went wrong in the dining room, but Giovanni aggressively told him he was not a waiter.

Elimination

Seth announced that Will was the first nominee and he himself was the second. However, J interjected and revealed that Seth was the first nominee, and Will the second. Ben agreed with J and stated that Seth did not really care about what to do, and Robert added on that he would trust Will more that Seth. While he offered to take Will’s place on the chopping block, Robert chose not to, declaring that Will nominated himself, and that he was respecting that decision. Ramsay allowed the initial nominees, and called Seth and Wil up front. After listening to both of their pleas, Ramsay eliminated Will for his poor performance on the garnish station and nominating himself for elimination.

Ramsay’s comment: “I found it quite strange that Will didn’t even have the will to succeed. He clearly didn’t belong in Hell’s Kitchen.”

My Opinion

Both team were shit on tonight service but did well on the significance dish challenge than every season so far. Red team waiter was better than the blue team. Wil and Seth to go up.

My comment: Wil can’t cook and spell his name right.

Season 4 Final

The fifteenth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on July 8, 2008. On that episode, Christina and Petrozza competed during the final service, and one of them is declared the winner of Hell’s Kitchen.

Team Select

The episode began at the same place where the previous one left off. When Petrozza had to pick either Matt or Jen, he stated that Matt was a lunatic and that Jen could be a bitch. Matt wished to not be picked last, but Petrozza eventually picked Jen. She believed that the reason she was not picked last was because Petrozza knew she was a strong leader and that he would not want to be outshine by her, but stated that he would be anyway. Therefore, Christina picked Matt as her last choice, while thanking God that Petrozza chose Jen because she was not trusting her and did not want her on her team.

Before Service

After the selection was complete, both teams went in the dorms, so Christina and Petrozza could brief them on their respective menus. On the patio, Petrozza was feeling extremely great about his team, with Bobby promising that they would cook their heart out for him as he was having the strongest team. Bobby also added that Petrozza was the nicest man ever, people would love working for him, and he was confident that he would win. Ben stated that Bobby, Petrozza and himself were tight, but he was less sure about Jen as he never worked with her in the kitchen. All of them were confident and ready to have an enjoyable service, except Jen, who was not happy about being there as a returning contestant, believing she was deserving a place in the final two as she was still thinking she was the best chef, even better than the two finalists.

On Christina’s side, it was the same story, with Matt. He declared that Christina was annoying him, getting under his skin, and that he did not have any respect for her, stating that people have to earn their respect instead of waiting for it. However, Christina applied a strategy to motivate him by saying that her risotto idea was inspired by him. That strategy worked as Matt immediately declared that she earned his respect just for that. Christina declared that what she said to him was not true, but that the most important was that he bought it. Then, she dedicated Corey on the hot plate with herself, and Louross on appetizers because of his energy. She also motivated her team by saying that nobody ever had a perfect service, but they would try to get one for that one.

On the other side of the patio, Petrozza declared that his prep list was not done yet and that he was overwhelmed. Jen was furious about that news, saying she did not want to be a prep chef for Petrozza because she was feeling like the people who were playing the violin when the Titanic was going down. She added that he was very disorganized, while telling Petrozza that he should make his list to put on the fridge door.

With 6 hours left, both teams began their prep, and in the dining room, the construction was still behind schedule. John Janavs, the architect of Hell’s Kitchen, pulled Christina aside to take some important decisions about her dining room. He suggested her to make all of the columns chocolate brown, a decision she agreed, while declaring she never worked with a designer before and that the most important was that her work had to be done by the opening. On his side, Petrozza learned that his booths were not there yet, so he jokingly suggested Bobby could land a hand. He declared he was trusting Janavs but did not want to be scrambling at the last minute either. Meanwhile, in the blue kitchen, Jen asked Ramsay if he could write her a letter of recommendation for her future by putting what he thought of her except her big mouth. He was shocked by that request, Christina heard it from the red kitchen and laughed about it with her brigade. Louross asked if she was serious, Christina stated that move from Jen was really classless, and Corey declared that she was officially hating her, while Jen was giggling alone.

In the red kitchen, Matt started to drive his teammates nuts with his bizarre behavior by talking to himself, with Corey saying he was unstable and a little bit psycho. Matt started mimicking Christina when she gave him an order, and started to talk back, before Corey suggested to her that she must make him more serious. Then, Christina declared that if Matt would bring down the whole kitchen with his attitude, he could fuck off whenever he would want. Corey told Matt to get his shit together, but he responded that his shit was together, before Christina took him in his hands and shook him while telling him to calm down. In the blue kitchen, it was the same story for Petrozza, with Jen. He asked her if she was all right, she did not answer, and when Ben asked her how long her risotto would be ready, he called her “sweetheart” in the process, which she did not appreciate by telling her name is Jen, and that her risotto would be ready in a minute and a half. Ben declared that Jen had been in a pissy mood all day long because she wanted to be in the finals, but reminded that she did not and that she had to get over it. When Petrozza asked her if she needed help, she declared he must not trust her to work on the line, leading Petrozza to say that she was being a bitch and doing the thing they were all knowing her for. Petrozza told Jen to stay with him and focus, while adding that he would kick out her if she would give attitude during service. Jen told herself to put her head down and do what she had to do to get the fuck out of there as soon at the service would be over.

One hour before service, Ramsay tasted the sample dishes from Christina and Petrozza’s menus. Both of them prepared 3 appetizers, 3 entrées, and 3 desserts. Christina’s menu included a beef sliders trio appetizer, her signature New York strip with sweet corn succotash and roasted potatoes entrée, and a tropical sundae with roasted pineapple and macadamia nuts. For the slider, Ramsay suggested to have three different proteins for each burger, he also suggested that her New York strip should be sliced in two or three sections, and he enjoyed the sundae dessert. She was happy as she did not like overcomplicated things and would love to have food her kitchen could execute. Petrozza’s menu included a lobster strudel appetizer, his signature filet mignon with onion risotto entrée, and a vanilla soufflé with a whiskey crème anglaise dessert. Ramsay noticed his strudel was overcooked, the risotto of his filet mignon was too stiff, but he praised the soufflé, saying he was very brave to do that. Petrozza took Ramsay’s advices and ran with it, saying he was a phenomenal chef. He added that there was some corrections to make, but that they would fix them. Ramsay commented both menus, saying that Petrozza’s was highly imaginative, which could be dangerous, but added that he would pull it off, it would be very successful. He continued by saying that Christina’s was playing safe for being simple, but added that if she could turn it up a notch, it would be successful as well.

30 minutes before service, Petrozza’s booths finally arrived, and Christina was ready to present her dining room to Ramsay. He found it contemporary, and remarked that the chairs were comfortable, while adding it was vibrant and elegant, which was representative of Los Angeles. On Petrozza’s side, Ramsay said it was rustic and nice, while telling he was comfortable sitting at a table. Petrozza declared his favorite part was the flowers. Ramsay also loved the fireplace, and Petrozza declared that because of Ramsay’s high standards, getting compliments on his restaurant by him was meaning everything.

Minutes before opening, Ramsay declared to Christina and Petrozza that for one of them, their next service would be in his restaurant in Los Angeles. He finished by saying he would watch both of them all night long and wishing them good luck. In his kitchen, Petrozza asked his brigade if they were ready, which Ben answered that night was about him, and in her kitchen, Christina motivated her team one last time. Petrozza declared that service was the most important of his life by 250,000, referring to his new salary if he would win. Christina was fucking ready, saying she would just have to work one more night in order to win. After both finalists gave a final pep talk to their brigade, with Christina revealing 13 tables would be attending in her dining room and that her team would concentrate, focus and cook for one last effort. Louross was ready to go, but when Christina asked Matt how he was feeling because he was quiet, he answered by saying he was focused on the task ahead. She declared she was feeling good about her team, despite Matt being unpredictable. Petrozza said to his team that they all have to perform the service of their lives, with Bobby adding they would man up. Jen responded to Bobby by asking if they would woman up as well, which annoyed Bobby, who said she had a shit poor attitude that he could see on her face and hoped she would not disturb the team too much. Petrozza shook Jen’s hand, wishing her good luck, and Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

Christina and Petrozza’s restaurants went head-to-head that service, and Ramsay would base his decision on the customer comment cards and his own observations. Christina called her first ticket out, and Louross responded back very loudly, being excited to work for her. Christina was excited but nervous because she knew a good start was required, so she gave Louross four minutes for his first appetizer to be ready, and the rest of the team understood. In the blue kitchen, Jen saw that Petrozza’s dining room was filling up, and Petrozza called his first ticket out with his team calling back immediately. Petrozza understood it was do or die for him as the following three hours would decide the fate of his life. Bobby gave three minutes for his strudel to be ready. Seeing that, Ramsay was confident as both kitchens were having a vibrant start and hoped they would keep that momentum all service long. Christina ordered the appetizers immediately, and Louross declared he was walking with the salads at the moment. Corey acknowledged it was her last service in Hell’s Kitchen and was determined to make Christina win that night. Louross brought his salads at the same time Corey brought her sliders to the pass. Ramsay said to Christina that her sliders were looking lovely, and they were served to the dining room. Christina motivated her team saying she loved that start. In the blue kitchen, Petrozza asked Bobby for the appetizers, and Bobby said that despite the menu not being easy, he would cook his ass off. Bobby sent his appetizers, but they were still cold and Petrozza told they would not be able to keep up if they would go down like that. So, he asked Bobby and Jen to put them back in the pan. Petrozza acknowledged it would be his fault if he would let mistakes go by him, so he insisted his team to check everything they were doing. Ramsay commented that he was happy to see Petrozza’s quality control and seeing he was not accepting Bobby’s strudels. He also added that Petrozza had to run his brigade, or it would run him. On his second attempt, Bobby delivered better appetizers, along with Jen, and Petrozza thanked him for that and served them. Bobby proclaimed himself once again as a “Four-Star General”, and said that Petrozza was needing him. Petrozza’s quality control paid off as his customers were satisfied with their appetizers.

In the red kitchen, Christina was feeling the pressure as she was asking for appetizers, but Louross was a little behind, still being on the first order. Ramsay schooled Louross by telling him to speed up, and Louross needed help. Christina was frustrated because her team wanted her to help, but she could not as things would go down if she would. So, she dedicated Matt to help Louross with the salads, which he did. He was trying to help as best as he could by asking a lot of questions to Louross, which annoyed the latter who said he was asking stupid questions. Christina revealed that working with Matt was frustrating as salad was easy. Ramsay told Matt to speed up by remembering him it was not the opening service, and when Christina asked for the salads, Matt sent them to her, but he dropped a salad bowl on his way. Louross was annoyed by his careless behavior, and Christina wondered how she would go through service with Matt, being discouraged and saying he was trying to wonder what he was doing. In the blue kitchen, Petrozza served appetizers to more than half of his customers. When he called the following ticket, Jen revealed they were out of cheese for the salad, discouraging Petrozza, who said it was a nightmare. Jen revealed she got enough for only four orders, but five were needed. She took all responsibility off her, saying it was not her fault and that her station was not prepped properly. Moments later, Bobby revealed he was also running out of strudels, discouraging Ramsay and Petrozza, who said that situation was tearing him apart. Ramsay ordered Petrozza to make a decision quickly, so he asked Bobby what could he bring, which he answered he could bring a risotto. Petrozza accepted that solution, acknowledging they had to bounce back. With that decision, food was getting out of the kitchen once again, and were well received by the customers.

In the red kitchen, Christina began to serve entrées and motivated her team by telling to keep up the good pace. But, Jean-Philippe sent back two dishes for not being hot enough, and when Petrozza saw that, he thought it was good for him and wished her food would keep coming back. Ramsay was disbelieved and asked Christina to correct her problem fast. She asked Corey to refire an order of New York strip on-the-spot, and Corey asked Matt to cook the garnish right away. Corey revealed she started to get frazzled because food was coming back and acknowledged she could have been more organized. Ramsay noticed all the food that was sitting on the hot plate, and Corey vocally led the red team. After, a fire erupted in one of Matt’s pans, and Ramsay told Christina to turn her game up a notch. So, she started to speak louder and asking for entrées quickly, while Corey and Matt brought their food to the plate at the same time, which were accepted by Christina. Ramsay commented on how the red team were fighting back and Christina was becoming more assertive. Because of that, she got her good momentum back, and the customers were once again satisfied with the food. In Petrozza’s dining room, the customers were waiting because he was taking too much time plating his dishes. Ramsay told him to hurry up and ask for help from his brigade, but he said he was reluctant to do it as he did not want to take them off their stations. But moments later, he understood Ramsay was right and asked for help from Ben and Jen, who helped him plate his food. Ben was determined to help Petrozza win, saying he was deserving it. With his brigade’s help, Petrozza was finally getting his food out again, and the customers were extremely satisfied to receive their entrées. In the red kitchen, Matt sent raw fish to the hot plate, and Christina asked him to fix it. Ramsay praised Christina for her quality control, and she motivated Matt at the same time that she had to watch every of his move from that moment on. When Ramsay asked Matt how could he do that to her, he told to shut up and that his fish was tasting good, which was the most important. Ramsay was furious about Matt’s behavior, and Corey was also annoyed by his attitude saying he was mumbling underneath his breath when Ramsay was yelling at him. Ramsay said to Christina that she must not let that go, and then, Louross was also telling Matt to focus on his things instead of being disrespectful. Then, Ramsay called Matt a fuckface and pulled him to the side, telling him to wake up. In the blue kitchen, Petrozza asked for one last onion ring to send the table, but Jen started to give him attitude by saying she knew already, annoying him who said he could not make the table wait only for one onion ring from Jen. When she brought her onion ring to the pass, it was still undercooked, even disbelieving Ramsay himself, and Petrozza asked her for a crispy onion ring. He was so blown away by that mistake, saying she was only frying onion rings and that it should not have been that complicated. Jen continued to give attitude to Petrozza, and Ramsay told him to not let one of those bitches take his dream away from him. Then, Ramsay told Jen she must not be disrespectful, and she answered she was not, but Petrozza stated he could have done a better job than her with only one arm. Ramsay pulled Petrozza aside to say he need to control Jen as she was sabotaging her service, so Petrozza regrouped her and told to just cook the food, which Ramsay thanked him for and called Jen “Miss sabotage”. After that, she angrily sent her second attempt at the onion rings.

Two hours into dinner service, Petrozza served 10 of his 13 tables and Christina served 8 of her 13. Therefore, she was rushing to catch up and asked Matt for the monkfish, which he answered it was coming immediately. However, it was still raw, and Ramsay berated Matt for doing that on a night that important, and Matt started arguing, which Ramsay told him not to do. Christina declared she was screwed by working with him, and told he had to shape up or leave her kitchen. Ramsay reminded Christina to not be ruined by him or he would run the pass for her, by adding that every of her dishes were counting. Then, Christina went over to the meat station and told Matt how to properly cook the monkfish, but Matt started giving attitude by telling to shut her mouth and let him cook. After that, Matt said the fish was not raw, only little parts of it. Christina ordered the monkfish straight away, but Matt started to lose his temper and angrily taking out another pan and telling it would take 6 minutes to refire it. Christina said she would not let him ruin her night, and his second attempt at the monkfish was perfect. Matt had a little celebration, and the team rallied to complete the final service, with Christina motivating Matt by telling he was two risottos away from completing his last Hell’s Kitchen service. Ramsay commented that it was near the end of service, and both kitchens were neck-and-neck. In the blue kitchen, Petrozza started to call out desserts, and Christina followed very shortly after. The customers really enjoyed their desserts, and when they were done, everybody was congratulating each other, even Christina and Petrozza.

Post-Mortem

When the teams were lined up, Ramsay congratulated both finalists for having great services, with more highs than lows. Then, both teams gave a round of applause, and Ramsay reminded there could only be one winner, before reminding the prize job. After that, he asked both finalists to say goodbye to their brigades and went up to the dorms and wait.

Back in the dorms, Christina was not appreciating the wait and asked for the decision to happen, while Petrozza wanted to win very badly. In his office, Ramsay was basing his decision on the customer comment cards and his own observations.

Winner Announced

When Ramsay got ready with his decision, both finalists went to his office. On their way, Petrozza declared he did not want to lose to Christina as she was only a kid, despite acknowledging she was a talented kid, and Christina knew the best cook would win, while hoping it would be her. Arrived in Ramsay’s office, they stood in front of him, and Ramsay declared that making his decision was pure agony as they were both worthy of winning. After declaring he got two strong finalists, he asked Christina and Petrozza to stand in front of a door each. Both of them did, knowing it would only open if they would be the winner. The finalists wished each other good luck, put their hands on the handles, and waited nervously for Ramsay’s countdown to end. Ramsay began his countdown, and when he ended it, both finalists turned their handles, but only Christina’s door opened.

Christina became the winner of Hell’s Kitchen, being awarded an Executive Chef position at the London West Hollywood in Los Angeles, with a salary of $250,000. Petrozza became the runner-up, but took his defeat graciously by congratulating Christina and acknowledging it was a great experience where he met a lot of great people. Christina thanked her brigade, saying she would not be there if it was not from them. During the celebration, everybody was hugging each other, and Ramsay and the Sous Chefs were spraying champagne on everybody.

Ramsay’s comment: “Christina had the least amount of experience coming to Hell’s Kitchen. But I saw something in her that is quite special, she had the best potential across any other chef in Hell’s Kitchen, and in my business, I think long term. I’ve definitely, definitely made the right choice. I feel like I’ve been on a roller coaster for the last three months. Of all the Hell’s Kitchens, this has been the one with the most ups and downs. But, we ended on a high, and right now, it’s time for me to get the fuck out of Hell’s Kitchen!”

WINNER
RUNNER UP

My Opinion

A good final tonight with the 2 best chef in hell’s kitchen. I think Petrozza didn’t have a clue to put on his menu but did alright. Matt and Jen were the wrost chef to have in your team.

My comment: A good final, both could have won it but Christian have the edge over Petrozza just.

Season 4 Episode 14

The fourteenth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on July 1st, 2008. On that episode, Christina and Petrozza redesigned their own restaurant, competed in their final challenge, and selected their brigades for the final service.

Intro

The episode began with a recap of the first thirteen episodes, mentioning what happened, and who got eliminated when. During that recap, Corey received the burning picture sequence for the first time since her elimination.

The episode began exactly at the point where the previous one left off. Two giant screens came down from the ceiling, Petrozza was given the blue side of the restaurant, and Christina was given the red side. When she saw her face, Christina said she was looking angelic as she never saw her face 20 feet long. Ramsay tasked both of them to create their dream restaurant and their own menus. Petrozza was very emotional, saying it was a dream come true. Ramsay added that their restaurants would go head-to-head, so he could see who is the better chef, and concluded by saying they would meet the designer of the restaurant the following morning. Then, the finalists got back to the dorms, and Christina was excited, thinking it would be awesome.

On the patio, both of them got to work on their menus, and Christina thought her menu would be easy as she worked in restaurants since her youth. Petrozza declared it was hard for him despite having made menus all his life, and said to Christina that he would go to bed, before both of them congratulated each other. Christina worked on her menu all night long. The next morning, Petrozza acknowledged it was time for him to design his menu, so he went on the patio to do it, but was still having a tough time. Christina joined him moments later and she declared her menu was complete.

New Restaurant Design

36 hours before the final service, Petrozza was still not having a clue of what he would cook, but in the dining room, Christina was already visualizing what her restaurant would look like, declaring that nothing is easy in Hell’s Kitchen. On his side, Petrozza acknowledged the stakes were high and that he had to focus in order to win. Then, they got a meeting with John Janavs, the architect of Hell’s Kitchen. During his meeting with him, Petrozza did not know what he would like to do, and Janavs was not convinced. Christina had a very strong idea of what she would like her restaurant to look like, and Petrozza eventually got some ideas of his own, and even proposed to put a lot of flower arrangements all over his dining room. Janavs was interested by the idea, and declared he got a lot of work to do.

After that, the finalists got a meeting with Jean-Philippe for the uniforms of their staff. He introduced some options to the finalists by inviting some waiters wearing different outfits, but Christina was not satisfied with any of them so she clearly expressed her vision. On his side, Petrozza was satisfied with Jean-Philippe’s suggestion, even wanting to mix some of them into one new uniform.

Then, both finalists got in their respective kitchens to work on their menus. Christina was working with Sous Chef Gloria, while Petrozza was working with Sous Chef Scott. In the blue kitchen, Petrozza finally had a clear idea of what he would put on his menu, with Sous Chef Scott loving his ideas. In the red kitchen, Christina took a lot of consideration from Sous Chef Gloria and was very confident about her menu. In the end, Petrozza was confident as well about his menu, saying it would rock.

Trip To New York City

After both of them finished discussing their menus with the Sous Chefs, Jean-Philippe called them to go and see Ramsay in his office immediately. Arrived in his office, both of them declared they were nervous, but Ramsay declared he was more nervous than them, even wondering if he had the right finalists. After some deliberation, he declared he knew he did, and both finalists were relieved, with Christina even joking that Petrozza was old and his heart could not take it. Then, Ramsay asked both finalists to pack their bags as they would go to New York City on-the-spot. The excited finalists quickly came to the dorms and packed their bags, before leaving in the Hell’s Kitchen SUVs. Meanwhile, the constructions in their restaurants began.

They arrived at the runway where Ramsay waited for them. He jokingly said to Petrozza that he was looking clean for once, and all of them entered a private jet. Petrozza was excited as her never been in a private jet in his life. During the ride, Ramsay recalled Petrozza’s hen-in-a-pumpkin signature dish on the first episode, Christina’s first nomination when she started to cry on the second episode, as well as Petrozza almost quitting that same episode before he was saved by Bobby. Ramsay also called Petrozza the dirtiest and messiest contestant in the history of the show, and recalled how messy his station was during the second black jacket service. Finally, Ramsay told Christina she broke the record for the most challenge wins for one contestant in the history of the show, with nine. Petrozza was impressed, acknowledged she was good but was determined to give all he had inside him. Christina declared she was ready and the most important thing was to win.

Then, all three of them arrived in New York City, where they rode in a limousine to Times Squares. Christina was excited to be there as there was lights and people everywhere, and then, Ramsay introduced both of them to a surprise, which was one of the Times Squares screens which could be read “NYC welcomes Christina and Petrozza Hell’s Kitchen finalists” on it. Petrozza did not believe it was happening to him. After that, Ramsay got them another surprise by inviting both of them to Dubai, so they could spend five days there and come eat to his restaurant. Their next stop was the London West Hollywood of New York City, where they walked in the kitchen and met Ramsay’s executive chef Josh Emett, before Ramsay gave the finalists their chefs jackets. Petrozza thought he could see himself working under Ramsay. Finally, Ramsay concluded by introducing the final challenge. Christina was confident going in the challenge as she felt she was on a roll.

Final Challenge

Christina and Petrozza were given 45 minutes to cook their new signature dish. Petrozza made a filet mignon with a caramelized onion risotto in a red wine balsamic glaze, declaring he wanted to be the best and a star as cooking was the only thing he knew, and added his signature dish was unbeatable. When she saw his hair brushed onions, Christina thought she would wipe the floor with Petrozza. On her side, Christina prepared a New York strip with sweet corn succotash and roasted potatoes. She thought her dish was pretty as when she thought it was delicious, other people would think so either, and that she had it in the bag. Both of them plated and served their dishes in time.

For the judging, Ramsay revealed the five judges would be five of his executive chefs. The first judge was Mark Sargeant, Ramsay’s executive chef at Claridge’s, in London. He enjoyed both dishes, and despite saying he did not like Petrozza’s hair brushed onions, he gave the point to him. The second judge was Angela Hartnett, Ramsay’s executive chef at Cielo, in Boca Raton, Florida. She eventually gave the point to Petrozza as well, giving him a 2 point lead over Christina. The third judge was Stuart Gillies, Ramsay’s executive chef at Boxwood Cafe, in London. He gave Christina her first point, closing the gap at a 2-1 lead for Petrozza. The fourth judge was Simone Zanoni, Ramsay’s executive chef at the Trianon Palace, in Versailles, France. After he said that Petrozza’s risotto was not fitting well with his filet mignon, Petrozza questioned his judgement by saying he could change the way a risotto is being made. Zanoni gave the point to Christina, tying the score at 2. The final judge was Josh Emett, Ramsay’s executive chef at the London West Hollywood in New York City. Christina was intimidating by him as he was her potential future employer. After some tense deliberation, Emett gave the point to Petrozza, making him the winner of the challenge. Petrozza was awarded with the first pick at the selection of the brigades, and he was happy about it because that meant Christina would have to pick last. Finally, Ramsay introduced the finalists to Whoopi Goldberg, who was a big fan of the show and wished them good luck, before the finalists headed back to Hell’s Kitchen.

Restaurant Design Continuing

Arrived in Hell’s Kitchen, Petrozza was extremely satisfied with the progress that was made on his restaurant, but not Christina, who noticed the stripes on her columns that she did not enjoy at all. She was very upset, saying that she wanted to vomit as she found them really ugly. Petrozza thought it was good for him, and then, she suggested Janavs that the columns would be dark inside and bright outside to make a contrast. Janavs agreed with that suggestion, and both finalists went to their room to try and get some needed rest, with Petrozza wondering if he would be able to sleep that night.

Team Select

The next morning, Christina and Petrozza understood how much that day was important for both of them as it was their last day in Hell’s Kitchen. Petrozza declared he had work all his life to get there. Then, the phone rang, and Ramsay ordered both of them to get down in the kitchen right away. Arrived in the red kitchen, Ramsay introduced both of them to their brigade. Bobby was the first one to enter the kitchen, and Christina noticed how cute he was looking. Ben entered the kitchen second, happy to see Petrozza in the finals and declaring he would love to be on his team as he did not give a rat about Christina. Corey was the third to reveal herself, followed by Matt, who declared his migraine was finally gone, Louross, and finally Jen. All of the returning contestants were given very short flashbacks of one of their highlights during their run. When Ramsay asked Jen what was the matter because he noticed she was down a little bit, she answered that she was all right. But moments later, she declared it was rough returning as she thought she was far better than any of the group and that her goal was to make Ramsay second guess himself when he got rid of her. After that, Ramsay reminded the returning chefs that Christina and Petrozza would depend on them for that final service. Petrozza picked first as he won the final challenge, with Christina wishing he would not pick Corey. His first selection was Bobby, declaring he was a rock star and that he could not pass that service without him. Christina immediately picked Corey as her first pick, and Petrozza followed by picking Ben, declaring he was talented and strong. Christina picked Louross as her second choice, saying she needed some energy in her kitchen, and Ramsay added that she definitely got that in him. For the last pick, Petrozza was left between Jen or Matt, knowing those two were the most hated chefs of that season, but before his decision was announced, the episode ended in a cliffhanger.

Season 4 Episode 13

The thirteenth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on June 24, 2008. On that episode happened the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, the three finalists ran the hot plate one at a time, and two of them became the finalists of Hell’s Kitchen.

Intro

While going back upstairs, Corey and Petrozza hugged each other, Christina said she thought Corey was going home, and Corey also did, but added that it was not because she was lucky to be there, it was because she was a good chef. She also said that winning was so close she could taste it. On the patio, the three of them talked about how they were happy Jen was finally gone, with Petrozza saying Ramsay made the right decision, and Christina saying that she would rather lose to them than losing to Jen.

After that, Christina acknowledged that even though she and her two remaining teammates were the best of the best, there would only be one winner, and she was determined to be that winner. Then, they congratulated each other by giving high-fives, and Petrozza was impressed by the fact there was only three chefs left. They went to bed, wishing each other good night, and Corey congratulated Christina by jokingly calling her a “fucking biyatch”. Christina concluded by asking who would have thought it would be herself and Corey still standing, with Corey answering definitely nobody.

Individual Challenge

The next morning, the chefs woke up and got ready for the day, with Petrozza saying he did not know what was coming up. They lined up in the dining room, where Ramsay congratulated them for being the final three. Then, he announced he would cook lunch for them as a celebration, but before he did, he introduced the chefs to some special guests, which were their loved ones. Corey was visited by her mother and boyfriend, Christina got visit from her parents, and Petrozza saw his father and girlfriend. All three of them really enjoyed that special time with their families, saying they were thrown away by their visit and starting crying. The families sat down to one table each where they ate Ramsay’s dish. Corey and Petrozza did not care what they were eating as they wanted to enjoy the moment with their families, but Christina knew that after the families would leave, the chefs would have to do something related with that dish. So, she enjoyed the moment with her parents while guessing what were the ingredients of the dish. After the lunch, the chefs said goodbye to their families, who left, and lined up in front of Ramsay. He asked them if they enjoyed the moment, which Corey answered she did.

After that, Ramsay introduced the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, where each chef had 45 minutes to recreate the dish they have just eaten. Corey thought she was screwed as she was too overwhelmed by her family’s visit. The countdown began and a sample plate was given by Ramsay on the counter. Petrozza and Corey went to the pantry room to look for some ingredients, with the latter saying there was ten different meats in the fridge. Corey chose the filet of buffalo as her cut of meat, as well as Petrozza, but Christina used the venison striploin. As Petrozza tasted the sample dish a few more times, he changed his mind and went also with the venison striploin. With 20 minutes gone, the chefs chose their other ingredients. All of them selected pancetta, carrots, onions, cabbage, and parsley for the vegetables, but Christina did not find white beans in the fridge, convinced it was the last ingredient. So, she went back to taste the dish, still believing it was white beans that were missing, and then, she found them on the top shelf of the fridge. With 15 minutes to go, Christina decided to make a white beans purée, Corey made a potato parsnip purée, and Petrozza did not make any purée whatsoever. For the sauce, the chefs made a red wine reduction, but Corey tasted some sweet, and changed the base of her sauce, hoping she would be right. The chefs plated and served their dishes in time.

Ramsay tasted each dish while the chefs described their respective dishes, revealing what ingredients they used. Corey was relieved when Ramsay stated her sauce was correct, but she missed the protein as she chose buffalo when the correct one was venison. So, she was automatically out, leaving Petrozza and Christina still in the running. After some tense deliberation, Christina was declared the winner for at least having put a purée, even if it was the wrong one, as Petrozza did not put any. He was furious at himself, asking why did he left the purée aside.

Reward

Christina was rewarded with a three-course meal around Los Angeles with Ramsay, as well as a tour bus. While getting ready, she was excited and thought the reward was cool, but wished that her parents would join her. When she got outside of the restaurant, a double-decker bus was waiting, Ramsay greeted her, and her parents were there as well. She was excited and hugged them, before entering the bus. Everybody went up to the top floor where Shana, a tour guide from Los Angeles, was waiting for them. They made a tour of Los Angeles, before stopping at Grace restaurant. Inside, Ramsay congratulated Christina and said she won the most consecutive challenges. She enjoyed that compliment saying they were rare and that she loved to enjoy it with her folks. For their second stop, they went to AOC restaurant, where Ramsay revealed Christina was one service away from making it to the finals. When she came back to Hell’s Kitchen, she said goodbye to her parents, saying that the fact they were there with her was the best part of the reward. She also said that she had to get back to business because of the very important dinner service that would happen in a few hours.

Punishment

Petrozza and Corey were punished by hand crushing huge ice blocks by themselves as the ice bags ran out, and polishing all the glasses from the restaurant under the supervision of Jean-Philippe. Corey said the day would suck because of that punishment. While they were breaking the ice, Corey and Petrozza joked about how they were looking like cavemen, even imitating cavemen, and Corey said she visualized the ice being Jen. When they moved on to the glass polishing, Petrozza said his shoulder was sore because of the way he was wiping the glasses, and then, Jean-Philippe came over and spotted some dirty spots that were still on the glasses, so Petrozza said he would do all of them one more time, much to his dismay.

Before Service

Christina joined Corey and Petrozza for prepping the kitchen ahead of dinner service. Corey acknowledged that winning all the challenges was fun, but it would not help Christina win the competition in the end. She added that Christina was not having the full package to win. Petrozza said there was no second place in Hell’s Kitchen, only a first place. Christina said that because it was the last service before the finals, she would have to give everything she was having.

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay reminded all of them that one of them would be the head chef at his new restaurant in Los Angeles. He also declared that all of them would be running the hot plate during that service one at a time, testing their ability to run a kitchen. After that, everybody got on their station, but Ramsay pulled Petrozza in the blue kitchen for an assertive test. Ramsay called Petrozza a gentle warm big-hearted lump, before simulating an undercooked Wellington mistake. Petrozza declared he was a quiet man in life, but got very aggressive during that simulation, impressing Ramsay. Then, Christina was pulled aside for the same test, but on her first attempt, where Ramsay simulated a risotto that was too salty, she was compared to a cheerleader by him, which insulted her. On her second simulation, which was undercooked Wellingtons, Ramsay liked her assertiveness more than the first try. Finally, Corey got her turn at that test, but she declared she was nervous as she was not a good actress. When Ramsay simulated bringing her raw fish, Ramsay was not impressed as she was too soft and he showed him how to do it properly, smashing a plate to the ground in the process. In the red kitchen, Petrozza heard it and was envious, saying he did not have to break a plate. On her second attempt, she was a lot more aggressive, and Ramsay reminded her she had to run the hot plate and not the other way around. After, everybody got in the red kitchen, where Ramsay wished luck to all the finalists, saying it could be their last service, before asking Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

When Ramsay called the first ticket out, Christina acknowledged she had to make sure that everything she was touching was on point, knowing she made mistakes in every services since the competition began. Her first attempt at the scallops was accepted and served to the dining room. A half hour into service, the team completed four tables of appetizers and were moving on to entrées. The Sous Chefs would fill the gasps during the chefs’ turns at the pass, but also test their quality control. Ramsay pulled Sous Chefs Scott and Gloria in the blue kitchen for a private talk, where they discussed the potential sabotages.

Petrozza was the first chef to run the hot plate. Under him, the kitchen ran very smoothly with a lot of appetizers being sent out. Then, Sous Chef Scott sent his first quality control test with a risotto without peas in it. Unfortunately, Petrozza failed to spot the mistake, and Ramsay told him, before he told Sous Chef Scott about it and asked him to start the risotto over. Ramsay told Petrozza to wake up, and he continued to send appetizers out. But, Christina brought an order of scallops which were too dark. Petrozza asked her to redo them, and when she checked her salmon, it was overcooked and declared she needed three more minutes. Corey acknowledged Christina was going down, but said it was good for herself. The second salmon Christina brought to the pass was raw, which Petrozza was not happy about, and Ramsay schooled her for that mistake, threatened her with elimination, and told her to wake up. Petrozza asked for the salmon, furious about waiting for the stuff and the fact that it was making him look bad, and when she brought it, she forgot the prawns. Ramsay noticed it and asked Petrozza to ask her where were they. Christina became confused, thinking she sent them, and when Ramsay asked her if she was trying to sabotage Petrozza, she answered she was not, asking why she would sabotage him by looking like an ass herself. Then, she dropped one of her pans to the ground, and Ramsay told her that even though she wanted to sink the service, he did not. Christina acknowledged she was screwing up left and right. Petrozza was also annoyed by her screwing up, but when she finally sent her prawns, he served them, and Ramsay congratulated Petrozza for being able to run the kitchen, and not the other way around.

More than an hour into service, it was Corey’s turn to run the hot plate. When she called her first ticket, she got confused as there was only 5 entrées written on the ticket compared to 6 appetizers. She told Jean-Philippe about it, and he corrected the problem. When she called the ticket once again with the missing order, only Sous Chef Scott answered back, so she asked if anybody else would like to say “Yes Chef”, and Christina did, but she had to ask Petrozza one more time, and then he did. Petrozza acknowledged Corey was all business. She managed to send many entrées out to some satisfied customers. But, Sous Chef Scott tested her by sending the wrong sauce with the Wellingtons. She spotted the mistake, but a little too late as she already plated it with the Wellingtons when she noticed it. She sent back the tray to Sous Chef Scott, and was ashamed to not have spotted that mistake. When she got back on her station, she was worried as she felt she did not performed well on the hot plate.

Christina was the last chef to run the hot plate. Ramsay told her to redeem herself as she had a very poor start on fish. When she called her first ticket, she asked for a time, but Ramsay told her it was her call and that she must not let the team run her. So, she gave four minutes. Then, she declared being at the hot plate was a much more enjoyable experience as she would run the team and yell at her brigade. Corey brought her Wellingtons to the pass, and Ramsay told they were perfectly cooked, urging her not to stop. Corey appreciated a moment for herself, hoping that it would be enough to get her in the finals. Meanwhile, Christina asked Sous Chef Scott for the salmon, and when she told him to move his ass, he told she better watch herself. He brought the salmon to the pass and she accepted it. Ramsay said it was not a bad start, and then, she asked Corey for a time, which she answered three minutes. Corey revealed that Christina’s voice was high-pitched and that it could be annoying at some time. After that, Sous Chef Gloria brought mashed potatoes with the wrong seasoning, and Christina succeeded to spot the mistake and told her about it. Ramsay congratulated her for spotting the mistake, and Christina was confident that she did well on the hot plate, hoping it would be enough to make her into the finals.

For the last minutes of the service, Ramsay took the control of the kitchen back, and the team rallied to finish the tickets before moving on to desserts. While plating the desserts, Corey and Christina discussed about who would be sent home that night as they all put off good performances. The team completed service and the morale was very high.

Post-Mortem

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay told they made his job difficult as he did not know who should be eliminated. After, he reminded Corey that she perfectly run the meat station but not the hot plate, Christina that she perfectly run the hot plate but not the fish station, and Petrozza that he was careless on the hot plate without being bad. Ramsay asked each of them to nominate one person for elimination.

On the patio, Petrozza acknowledged it was a lot of pressure put against them and said that Ramsay would base his decision on what they would say. Corey said that even though she was liking Petrozza and Christina, her ultimate goal was to win and that she would fight for her place. Then, she declared she was not feeling safe, and Christina revealed she was not either. Christina also stated that she loved working with Corey in the kitchen, but acknowledged that Petrozza may deserved it over the two of them as he was having the most experience. Finally, Petrozza said that all three of them had grew really close during the competition, and that his decision would be extremely difficult.

Elimination

Before asking for the nominees, Ramsay announced to the final three that he was proud of all three of them as he grew really close to them, and that moment was the one he hated the most. Then, Corey and Christina nominated each other, while Petrozza nominated Christina. After that, Ramsay announced Petrozza as the first finalist, and Petrozza thanked Ramsay for that. Following that, Christina and Corey had to plead their cases, and in the end, Ramsay declared Christina was the one joining Petrozza in the finals, therefore eliminating Corey. Before she left, Corey hugged her fellow teammates, with Christina promising she would be picked on her team, and Ramsay praised her talent and told her to follow her dream. During her exit interview, Corey received a retrospective montage of her run.

After Corey left, Ramsay congratulated Christina and Petrozza for being the final two, and both of them hugged each other. Then, Ramsay announced their final test would begin at the moment, and two screens fell from the ceiling, with the episode ending in a cliffhanger.

Ramsay gave no comment on Corey’s elimination, and she did not receive the coat hanging and burning picture sequence.

My Opinion

On tonight service all the remaining chefs ran the hot plate. With Corey been the worst but Christian been the wrost on service. I agree with Petrozza begin the first chef to go to the final and Christian to go as well.

My comment: it unlucky that Corey didn’t go into the final but I agree with Ramsay’s choice.

Season 4 Episode 12

The twelfth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on June 17, 2008. On that episode, 80 hidden customers also ate with their hosts during the challenge, one chef made an unforgivable mistake twice at dinner service, and a disrespectful loud-mouth is finally eliminated.

Intro

While going back to the dorms, Christina acknowledged the elimination was tough, but the fact of having Jen still there was not pleasant as she would become even more vicious and out for herself. Jen was happy to have made it to the final four, but thought at that point, her competition would be threatened by her and that it was probably the time to make some friends. On the patio, Jen thanked Christina for her honesty at elimination, saying she did not feel insulted whatsoever about what she did because she did what she had to do. Corey said it was crunch time as everybody was out there trying to make themselves look good, but that everybody would be out for themselves anyway.

After Jen left the conversation, Christina questioned if she really meant what she just said, but Corey felt Jen was fake. She apologized about feeling that, but also declared that she was tired of worrying about everybody else’s feeling and walking on eggshells. She also realized that if she would not step up as a leader, she would be kicked out. Then, Corey declared to Christina and Petrozza they would have to get rid of Jen, but Christina said the final four was interesting and did not know if she could trust anybody. In her room, Jen unpacked her bags, saying it was not time for her to go.

Individual Challenge

The next morning, the remaining chefs lined up in the dining room, where Ramsay reminded them the ultimate prize, which was an Executive Chef position at his brand new London West Hollywood, in Los Angeles. Then, he stated that everything they would do was critical and the competition just turned up a notch. After that, he introduced the 80 Portions Pregnant Women Challenge, where each chef had one hour to cook 80 portions of one dish to serve to 80 very demanding customers, with their votes influencing who would win.

When the countdown began, the four chefs ran into the kitchens and started to prepare their dishes. Christina decided to prepare an island turkey sandwich with avocado. During that process, she feared the customers would be children as she did not think green avocado was a children’s favorite. Corey made a grilled salmon BLT sandwich on a toasted brioche with vegetables on the side. She was confident, saying she could pull it off. On his side, Petrozza decided to make a Monte Cristo sandwich with ham, turkey, and a spicy sauce. He was worried of keeping the sip toned down to please the masses. Finally, Jen prepared a Calypso grouper, containing a mango salsa on the side. When Ramsay announced there was 30 minutes to go, Jen and Petrozza acknowledged it was not a lot of time. In the red kitchen, Corey acknowledged she was not very well organized, as she had trouble taking off the skin of her salmon and dropping a zucchini to the floor, and wondered what happened to her. She also took a look at Christina and noticed she was calm as a cucumber and even being silly. With 10 minutes left, Jen commented Petrozza’s dish, saying it would provoke a heart attack because it was dipped in eggs, and that her dish looked a lot better. Petrozza put his sandwiches in pans, saying it was do or die for him. With 2 minutes left, Ramsay told the chefs to start plating their dishes, and Corey to move. He also motivated Petrozza, and Jen motivated herself. The chefs went to their stations in the dining room to get their plates on their tables with the help of Jean-Philippe, but Corey was the only one who was not ready yet. When time was over, she was only having a dozen of plates on her table, and Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe to let the customers in.

When the customers entered, Ramsay told he lied when he told the chefs would serve 80 customers because they would serve 160 as the customers were pregnant women. Jen felt relieved, saying that pregnant women would eat pretty much anything. While serving the customers, Corey ran back in the kitchen to get more plates, with the pregnant women being very impatient. Corey declared it was the worst challenge ever, and was upset because if the customers were men, she could use it to her advantage, but instead, they were bitchy pregnant women. While she was in the kitchen, Christina went to her station to serve the women who were still waiting, saying she was trying to pimp herself out there. Petrozza was charming the customers, acting a little bit like a salesman, and revealing he was a father himself. Jen was confident as she had the most complicated dish, and said that because the other chefs made sandwiches, her chances of winning were good. Meanwhile, Corey was still in the kitchen preparing and plating her sandwiches, and Ramsay schooled her for being slower than everybody else. Finally, she came in the dining room with some more plates, and on his side, Petrozza declared he could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

After the lunch, Ramsay thanked the pregnant women for helping declare the winner of the challenge, while jokingly congratulated them for not giving birth. Then, everybody applauded, and Ramsay announced the results. First, he declared Corey was having the worst dish, which she was not happy about it, saying that Ramsay would see a roller coaster ride going down from that moment on. After that, Jen was declared ranking in third place, which shocked her because she thought she put a great dish. Then, before announcing who the winner was, Ramsay revealed that only two votes separated the winner from the runner-up. Christina was declared the winner, and Petrozza was really heartbroken as he lost by only two votes. Ramsay concluded by thanking the women and asking Jean-Philippe to escort them outside.

Reward

For her second consecutive challenge win, Christina was rewarded with a trip to Beverly Hills with Ramsay, where she would blow over $1000 on a shopping spree at the most amazing boutiques. She was excited and ran to the dorms so she could get changed. On her way, she declared her three years of experience paid off as she was kicking asses in individual challenges. During the limousine ride to Beverly Hills, Christina was happy to have some one-on-one time with Ramsay, thinking it would boost her chances of winning. Both of them arrived at the Lisa Kline boutique, where they were greeted by Lisa Kline herself, who helped Christina picking the right clothes. Christina declared she was needing it as she was clueless in fashion. When she came out of the fitting room with her first dress on, Ramsay said she was looking great. After that, she put many more dresses on, with Ramsay impressed by all of them, leading Christina to think that he started flirting with her. At the end, she got to pay, but she said her bags were too heavy, while wishing for many more days like that to come to her in the future.

Punishment

Jen, Petrozza and Corey were punished by cleaning the dining room ahead of that night’s dinner service, followed by prepping the red kitchen. When Jen learned what Christina’s reward would be, she became envious, saying she was more fashionable than Christina and that it would have been the perfect reward for her. After a heartbreaking loss, Petrozza declared he did not want to clean the dining room. During the punishment, Petrozza was still complaining about the two votes that separated him from the win, Jen was eating the remaining food, and Corey was jealous of Christina as she was enjoying shopping herself. She also added that Ramsay picked the wrong girl to go on that reward as Christina was the least fashionable person of the remaining contestants. While they were cleaning the silverware, Petrozza tried to be friend with Jen, but she was not interested, saying she came there to win, not to make friends.

Before Service

When Christina came back from her reward, the three punished chefs were still cleaning silverware. She showed them her new clothes before getting to the dorms and change, but none of them were impressed. After she left, Jen even stated her new clothes were ugly and that she was licking asses. Petrozza thought Corey and Jen were boiling, while acknowledging the game was becoming vicious.

While Christina was changing into her black jacket, the three other chefs began prep, determined to shine. In the dorms, Christina was feeling good as she won yet another challenge, and thought that it would show in service. Corey thought she could use her reward to her advantage as Christina would still think she would be on clouds. When Christina entered the kitchen, her teammates were really unresponsive when she asked what she could do. Jen said that the competition at that moment was everybody for themselves. Christina thought their behavior was a little cold when she asked the same question for a fourth time. Then, Christina took her frustration on a ice bag that she pounded to the ground, but eventually, Petrozza helped her, even though acknowledging it sucked that she won, saying that it was still teamwork first. Corey also helped her, telling it was not about winning challenges, but winning Hell’s Kitchen.

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay reminded them the competition would get tougher as they were now only four left. He also told that each of them were having a chance of winning the prize, and that they had to work as a team while emerging as individuals. After, the chefs got on their stations, and Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

When the first ticket was called out, Ramsay told Jen to put the risotto on. Jen stated that she would be trying to prove herself, now that they were down to the final four, and that she had to take care of her business and man it up. Jen told Corey to fire her scallops, which she did. Corey revealed she was not feeling safe at that point, and that she had to give a great performance in order to stay in the competition. Both of them communicated well, giving time on their respective dishes. Corey’s scallops were beautifully cooked, and Jen brought her first risotto a few seconds later, and it was stunning. Ramsay praised that, saying it was the best start they ever had.

25 minutes into service, appetizers were flying out of the kitchen. Everybody was eager to give a good service as all of them wanted a spot in the final three. Jen brought another risotto to the pass, but it was mush. Ramsay schooled her on that mistake, asking her if she gave up and doing her risotto himself while telling her to understand what he was saying. Her second attempt at the risotto was excellent, which Ramsay said it was confirming how lazy she was because of her inconsistency. Jen acknowledged Ramsay was not playing any game, and the team moved on to entrées. Petrozza and Corey brought their entrées to the pass, with Ramsay saying Corey’s salmon was beautifully cooked, and then, a minor fire erupted in one of Christina’s pans. Ramsay asked for the salmon garnish, and Christina brought her carrot purée to the pass, but did not tell Ramsay that the handle of the pot was sitting over the fire. That led to Ramsay burning his hand when he placed it on the handle, and told Christina to not look stupid like some thick cow, before going to the sink and rinse his hands. When he came back to the hot plate, he told her to say something if a handle was over the flame. Christina acknowledged the mistake and promised it would not happen again. But, when she brought her second garnish to the pass, she did the same mistake and Ramsay burned himself for the second time. He was furious about the situation while rinsing his hands once again, and pulled Christina over to show her how hot the handle was. So, he poured water over the handle and it sizzled, leading Ramsay to tell her once again to say something if a handle was over the flame. Despite that problem, Ramsay asked the team to start the table over.

After that, Corey and Jen had to communicate well to finish the appetizers, but when Corey asked Jen for a time, she was slow to answer and declared she was only concentrating on one risotto, without frying the quail eggs as asked to. Christina was given the proof that Jen was not a team player and fried the eggs herself. She also accepted to send the eggs for Corey, but they became burnt as a minor fire erupted on the garnish station, so she dedicated Corey to get some more quail eggs in the back store. Ramsay impatiently asked for the scallops and the eggs, but when Jen said they needed two scallops, Corey told she and Christina were fucked already with the eggs. Ramsay told Jen to be a team player and that she had to think about the team before herself. After he told her that, she broke some eggs, and Corey said she was sneaky and wanted to shine in front of Ramsay without caring who she was hurting along the way. Despite that, all the appetizers went out after an hour.

When the teams moved on to entrées, Corey was dragging behind by a couple of minutes, but Ramsay wanted the John Dory, so she sent it, thinking she would be yelled at anyway. After a nervous wait, Ramsay plated her entrée and served it, making her smile. However, it did not stay in the dining room very long as it was returned for being undercooked. Ramsay told her John Dory was raw, and she acknowledged that when someone would be 10% not sure of themselves in Hell’s Kitchen, it would come back to bite in the ass. Ramsay said that everything was perfect so far, but she was dropping standards like Jen was. Corey gave 30 seconds on her John Dory refire, and when she sent it to the pass, it was accepted. After that, Petrozza sent a nicely cooked order of beef to the pass, and the team started to get back on tracks. However, Ramsay caught Petrozza having a very dirty and disorganized station, and he told him to clean his station as he did not want beautifully cooked meat on a messy station. Petrozza gave ten seconds for his Wellingtons to be ready and started counting out loud. When he brought his filet mignons to the pass, Ramsay deemed them absolutely beautiful, and told him he did not care any longer if he was working on a messy station, with Petrozza being happy that he was now seeing over the mess.

An hour and a half into service, almost all the customers received their entrées. Ramsay motivated the team, which rallied to complete service by sending desserts out. The service was completed, Ramsay told the chefs to switch their stoves off, but Petrozza said it would suck because one of them would go home that night.

Post-Mortem

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay congratulated all of them for having a great service, by giving each of them a high-five. Petrozza was happy that Ramsay was finally having a sense of humor after cursing and yelling at them, saying it was phenomenal. Ramsay continued by saying the most important was that they bounced back, but brought the chefs down to Earth by asking them to come to a group consensus on which two of them should be nominated for elimination.

On the patio, Christina said it sucked, with Petrozza saying the same thing, but then he reminded half of them would go up, and Corey asked how they would figure it out. Then, Jen said she was getting her heart out, but Petrozza called her a cold bitch saying she was feeling having a heart because she knew her ass would go on the chopping block. After that, Corey suggested to put down two names on pieces of paper, without repeating the same name twice. While compiling the votes, Corey noticed that Christina’s name was put down three times, and concluded that because she did not put her, and Christina did not put herself, somebody wrote her name twice. Jen was immediately given responsibility for that, but she left to her room so she could pack her bags, stating she did not need to be nominated and that people were putting her up because they were threatened by her, thinking nobody there deserved the prize more than she did. On the patio, the three remaining contestants talked about how they could get rid of Jen, deciding who should be nominated with her. Petrozza did not bother going up, but Corey felt she was deserving more to be nominated than him. She did not feel secure about that plan as she said it could go either way and bite her in the ass.

Elimination

Before asking for the nominees, Ramsay thanked the final four for a great service, but reminded them despite that, one of their dream would be shattered. Christina declared Jen was the team’s first nominee for being the weakest at that point, and Corey as the second because the team was expecting more of her. After listening to both of their pleas, where Corey said she was a more honest person than Jen and the latter saying she was a great team player, Ramsay told Corey to say goodbye to Jen, who was eliminated for being the weakest link at that point and because of her poor attitude. However, Ramsay praised her growth, her maturity, and told her she finally listened. Jen received a retrospective montage of her run during her exit interview.

After Jen left, Ramsay asked the final three to give each other a hug, jokingly telling that even though Petrozza was fat, he was not that ugly. The final three gave each other a group hug, with Christina saying she was so happy that Jen was gone. Then, Ramsay reminded them about their near perfect service, and told that for the next service, they would have to be even better. Corey acknowledged there was no room for mistakes as she came there to win. After that, Ramsay told Petrozza he was the last man standing once again, with Petrozza not believing he was still there.

Ramsay’s comment: “A great chef should not only be consistent with their cooking, but with their attitude. I never knew which Jen I was going to get at dinner service. And that’s why it was her time to go.”

Season 4

My Opinion

Tonight service was the best service for this season of hell’s kitchen so far. Jen and Corey did make some mistakes but a good performance from the team. Jen and Corey to go up but Jen to go home.

My comment: Jen was a moody chef, that was her downfall in hell kitchen. One day she will think someone will sabotage her. Oh wait (Season 18)

Season 4 Episode 11

The eleventh episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on June 10, 2008. On that episode, the first cooking school opened in Hell’s Kitchen, one chef is mystified by their student, and a fan favourite is sent home.

Intro

While going back to the dorms, Christina jokingly asked if she could be called down without crying. On the patio, Petrozza revealed he was happy Matt was gone, which Bobby was either. Petrozza also declared that it was anybody’s game after Matt’s elimination. After that, Christina trash-talked about Jen and the way she was thinking she was flawless and perfect, by saying that she was on her last leg as far as her attitude was going. She also added that because of her attitude, Jen would be more vicious as the competition would go on, but that she would undo herself. Bobby added that Jen would have to stop playing the hero, and Petrozza gave up on her saying she would be pissed at anything.

Back in the dorms, Jen and Corey were making themselves lunch, with Jen declaring that she was not there to make friends and that if people would dislike her because of her attitude, she would not care because she had all the culinary skills faded in herself. Later, Christina and Corey went to bed, where they trash-talked about Jen, saying that she was on her way down and that the problem was that she was still thinking she was having it in the bag. Both of them also acknowledged that drama would come because of Jen.

Individual Challenge

The next morning, the five remaining chefs came down in the red kitchen, where they lined up in front of Ramsay, and Ramsay announced that a lobster spaghetti special would be on that night’s menu. Then, he made a demonstration on how to cook it, with everybody watching very carefully, and Bobby saying that he was loving it when Ramsay was cooking because it was like if he was telling a story. After his demonstration, he revealed to the chefs that a cooking school would open in Hell’s Kitchen for the first time ever. Petrozza was confident, saying he was a good teacher and that he had good chances of winning the challenge. Ramsay introduced the Cooking School Challenge, where each contestant had 45 minutes to teach one student the lobster spaghetti while not being allowed to touch anything. Bobby declared he would very like to win the challenge as he was sick of losing. Then, the students arrived and they were revealed to be middle-aged domestic housewives, which Corey stated were wearing mini-skirts and popping their breasts out. When he saw them, Bobby said his mouth dropped, and then, Ramsay asked Petrozza if he was excited because of how glamorous they were. Petrozza responded that Ramsay was trying to distract him, and was lost for words, mumbling sounds with his voice. Then, one of the housewives was holding a dog in her hands, so Ramsay asked her what was the name of her gerbil, which she answered Zeus. He took the dog and jokingly asked Sous Chef Scott to take it and put it in the steamer. After, he dedicated each chef to the housewife standing opposite them as their respective student, and the 45 minutes delay began.

Every chef got with their respective student, with Jen being worried that her student’s breasts would not get in the way as they were ridiculously huge. Corey instructed her student to roll the pasta as the first thing to do, and her student declared she never made pasta before, even though she heard about it. Then, Jen was caught for the first time touching the food herself despite not being allowed to. Christina was very nervous because her student was constantly cutting the food in her hand and could likely get injured. On his side, Petrozza was more excited as he was constantly helping his student put her apron on and tying her hair. Corey noticed it and said he would have to be more focused about his task. Ramsay laughed about Petrozza’s situation, and on the other hand of the kitchen, Bobby announced to his student she would kill a live lobster. She was scared as she never did it before, but Bobby was tired to babysit people and declared that a kitchen was not a daycare. When his student put the lobster in the boiling pot, she screamed and everybody was looking at her. When there was 15 minutes remaining, Corey was confident as she thought her student was stronger than the others and that her chances of winning would be good. After that, Jen was caught for the second time touching the food herself, which Christina said it was Jen showing her true colors. Ramsay threatened Jen with disqualification if she would do it again, which made Christina grin. With 2 minutes remaining, the students rallied to finish and plate their dishes, which they all successfully did in time.

In the dining room, the chefs were lined up behind their respective students, and Ramsay asked the students if they enjoyed it, which they all answered they did. He also asked them if it was their first time holding a knife, which they answered it was as well. Petrozza’s student was the first one to get her dish judged by Ramsay. Ramsay praised the seasoning and the perfect cooking of the lobster, and deemed the dish delicious. However, he noted the pasta was overcooked and too thin. Petrozza said because his student was way hot, it was difficult for him to concentrate and should have known that the pasta was too thin. Christina’s student received praise for the taste of the dish, but also for the perfect cooking of the pasta. When Jen saw that, she declared she was not afraid, thinking she could cook circles around Christina any day of the week. Bobby lifted his dome, wanting to win the challenge very badly, but Ramsay noticed the pasta was all jammed in one piece, jokingly comparing it to Zeus’ dinner. When he tasted it, Ramsay said it also tasted like a dog’s dinner, because the dish was badly seasoned. Bobby stated his student screwed the challenge for him, and that because she entered the kitchen with a dog, he was already halfway screwed right there. Corey’s student was the fourth to be judged, and Ramsay praised her dish for having perfectly cooked pasta and great seasoning. Corey was very proud of her student, saying she gave her a lot of knowledge and thinking she deserved to win. Finally, Ramsay understood that Jen’s student never cooked in her life as he could taste it. The dish was bland, contained no tomato sauce and the pasta was jammed in one big lump. Jen put all the responsibility of her loss on her student because the latter never cooked in her life before, with Jen not realizing that none of the other students did either. After deliberation over Christina and Corey, Ramsay declared Christina the best teacher of the first ever Hell’s Kitchen cooking school, making her the winner of the challenge. Christina was excited, thinking that from that moment on, she could teach anybody who would want to learn. Corey was mad as she thought she was the most deserving to win the challenge. Before they left, the domestic housewives were given cookware designed by Ramsay as a gift. Sous Chef Scott brought the gifts to them, and they thanked Ramsay for them, before leaving the restaurant.

Reward

Christina was rewarded with a lunch with Ramsay and two of Los Angeles’ premiered restaurant tours, who would cook for her, as well as eating with her. Christina was excited as she got some alone time with Ramsay and pick brains. When she came down in the blue kitchen, she was greeted by Ramsay, who introduced her to Mark Peele and Ben Ford, who would be cooking her the lunch. She listened very closely about the dishes that the two chefs were making and their tips. For the lunch, the two renowned chefs cooked a salmon dish, which Christina really enjoyed. At the end, all four of them sat around a table and shook hands, while Christina was determined to use their tips to her advantage.

Punishment

Bobby, Jen, Petrozza, and Corey were punished by cleaning the restaurant, which included emptying the fryers, scrubbing the floors and cleaning the ovens. Bobby said that because he lost almost every challenge, he was not taking the punishments kindly any longer. On the patio, the four punished chefs talked about Christina, with Corey saying she only won by luck because she thought Christina was not a strong chef, and Jen saying that her culinary skills were not there. Bobby added that she was a little bit slow. When they came down in the red kitchen, Sous Chef Scott gave them clear instructions on how to clean the kitchen. Petrozza was annoyed by Christina rubbing elbows in the opposite kitchen while the rest of them were cleaning, thinking it sucked. Corey was watching Christina and declared that reward would not be good for her ego as she could become more cocky about her success. When Jen got in the blue kitchen to clean, she managed to spy on Christina’s reward by listening to what Ford was saying to her. She came back in the red kitchen inspired, having used that time to her advantage. When Christina and the three chefs finished their lunch, Ramsay called Bobby to clean the plates. When he did, Jen used that time to taste the dishes, stating that she did what she had to do to win. Bobby said that Jen tasted food that would go in the garbage, saying it was weird.

Before Service

The next morning, the final five began prep ahead of that night’s dinner service. During prep, Christina was sharing her newly acquired knowledge to her teammates, but Jen and Corey were more annoyed by it than anything else, with Jen saying she wanted to throw her across the other side of the kitchen, and Corey saying her voice was getting under her skin.

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay announced for that night’s service, there would be a twelve-top attending. Petrozza acknowledged it would be a very busy night, and Ramsay reminded the chefs they had to put the performance of their lives. Ramsay asked the chefs if they were ready, which they answered they were, and Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

Before tickets came in the kitchen, Ramsay walked around the kitchen watching all what the final five would do and commenting on their actions. When he came to Jen, he told her to not be static and show some energy, with Corey acknowledging that Jen should shut her mouth and that it would only be a matter of time before Jen would break. Then, Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe for some tickets, but when Jean-Philippe was about to enter the blue kitchen, he head butted the door, which Ramsay laughed about and joked that the door should contain a sign where it would be written “Open your eyes, you Belgian twat”. When Ramsay called the first ticket out, he said to Christina that he wanted a perfect start. She brought one spaghetti dish to the hot plate, but two were called out. Ramsay asked Christina where was the other one, which she answered she heard only one. Ramsay schooled her, and Corey found it funny. When she sent her second spaghetti, Ramsay deemed it very nice and served both of her spaghetti dishes.

30 minutes into service, Christina bounced back from her rocky start and appetizers were flying out of the kitchen, with the customers extremely satisfied. When Bobby sent his first entrée of meat, it was not sliced properly and Ramsay asked him to start again. After that mistake, Bobby acknowledged Ramsay would be watching him all night long. Then, his Wellingtons were overcooked and, once again, not sliced properly. Ramsay schooled him and told him to wake up and start again. Jen declared that Bobby was having issues and that she was not making mistakes like that. After that, Jen sent a raw John Dory, she apologized to Ramsay, and Jean-Philippe, having heard that, told the waiters to push the meat. On her second attempt at the John Dory, Jen sent it overcooked, and she was schooled by Ramsay, who asked her what was going on. Once again, Jean-Philippe told his staff to push the meat. Meanwhile, Bobby tried to redeem himself, but his Wellingtons were burnt. Ramsay asked Bobby why he was not giving his best, and Bobby answered that he was trying to. Jean-Philippe told his staff to push the meat once more, and Petrozza acknowledged Bobby was struggling and pushed around a lot by Ramsay. Because of Bobby’s struggle, some customers were becoming impatient.

After that, Petrozza brought Jen’s John Dory to the pass, but he brought it too early, and Ramsay schooled Jen for a mistake she did not do. She started to talk back to Ramsay, telling she did not bring it, but when Ramsay asked her if she wanted to argue, she answered she did not. Jen acknowledged it was tough to bite her tongue, but kept telling to herself to shut up, but she could not resist talking back by saying one more time she did not bring it, and Ramsay told her to not yell at him. Then, Ramsay brought Jen in the pantry room to berate her on her attitude and the fact that the customers were not getting fed. When she talked back to him one more time, Ramsay threatened her with elimination, and after that, he told her to show some energy. When she came back in the kitchen, Petrozza acknowledged Jen was having a problem with authority and there would be nothing good that would happen about being disrespectful to Ramsay. After that, the team tried to regroup and complete the table, with Bobby comparing it to war. Bobby and Jen brought their entrées together and successfully completed the table, with the customers being satisfied. Then, Jen became a vocal leader, calling out the following order, which Bobby and Petrozza heard.

The team continued to send out many entrées, but their biggest challenge arrived, which was the twelve-top table. A group of beautiful women entered the restaurant, and when they were greeted by Jean-Philippe, they declared they were out for a ladies’ night and were wearing bikinis for a living. In the kitchen, Ramsay called the twelve-top ticket out and told Corey to help Christina on appetizers, which she did. Christina acknowledged that table would be a real challenge because all twelve appetizers needed to go at the same time. Ramsay told Christina that four spaghetti appetizers were needed, and she started to rush. In the dining room, Jean-Philippe was enjoying his time with the women at the twelve-top, talking with them, and they revealed they were all Hawaiian Tropic models. So, Jean-Philippe jokingly suggested to go to the beach the next day. In the kitchen, Christina sent spaghetti dishes, but the risotto was still missing. She told they were coming up, and Corey, who went to the dessert station, came back to help her. Corey stated that she and Christina were hating each other but working well together. Finally, all the appetizers of that table came to the hot plate at the same time, and Ramsay served them. They arrived at the twelve-top table together and were enjoyed by everybody.

After that, Christina and Corey went to prepare desserts, and the attention shifted to the other three chefs for the entrées of the twelve-top. Petrozza was determined to finish strong, saying it was that time during service where he asked himself what was left inside him. Bobby, Jen and Petrozza rallied to complete the last table, but Jen was schooled on her slowness and sent raw John Dory to the pass. Ramsay asked her and Bobby, who was also struggling, if it was a game between both of them, and pushed Jen to the side and cook the John Dory himself, much to Jen’s dismay. Corey saw that situation and hoped Ramsay would get rid of Jen. Then, Ramsay asked for the garnish, but Petrozza did not sent all of what was needed. So, Ramsay schooled him for that mistake, and asked him to send a polenta really quick. After that, a fire erupted in one of Bobby’s pans, discouraging Ramsay, who told Bobby and Jen they were inconsistent, and Petrozza he was dreaming. Despite their problems, all three of them started to become vocal and rallied to complete the table, much to Ramsay’s relief. The twelve entrées left the kitchen and were served to that table at the same time. The twelve women really appreciated their entrées, and Jean-Philippe was satisfied as well. With that table served, the service was completed and the chefs were relieved, but Ramsay was not impressed. He asked Bobby if he was happy, which Bobby answered he was not, and told everybody to switch their stoves off.

Post-Mortem

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay reminded the team completed service, but said it was too painful. He added that they did not work as a team, it should not be that painful this far in the competition, and that being the final five, he expected more of them. Then, Ramsay singled out Christina for her strong performance on appetizers, naming her “Best of the Worst”, and asked her to nominate two of her teammates for elimination.

On the patio, Christina talked with Petrozza about his performance, telling she heard Ramsay asking for the garnish many times, and considered him for having a weak performance and being dirty. After that, she talked with Corey about Bobby, where Corey recalled his 15 years of experience and seemed like he never tried to push himself. Back on the patio, Bobby said that service was hardcore cooking, and talked about his own performance and Ramsay watching him closely. Jen declared that Bobby and Petrozza should be nominated as she felt she was not the worst performer that night, but also reminded that she was not friend with Christina, so she could be nominated. Then, she went to her room and pack her stuff, while Corey and Christina were talking about how Jen was so full of herself, and that she could not win with that kind of attitude. Both of them concluded by saying they hoped that Jen would be the one eliminated.

Elimination

Christina named Jen as her first nominee because of her poor attitude and team spirit, and Bobby as her second because of his inconsistent performance that night. During his plea, Bobby thanked Ramsay for stopping his poor food going up to the customers. After listening to both of their pleas, Ramsay asked Christina who should be eliminated, which she answered Jen. In the end, Ramsay did not agree with her and eliminated Bobby for a downward spiral and failure to step up as a leader. During his exit interview, Bobby received a retrospective montage of his run.

After Bobby left, Ramsay reminded the final four what was at stakes, and wished them luck while dismissing them. On their way back to the dorms, Jen said she was booted off elimination because she was one of the strongest. Petrozza also stated it was becoming hardcore, and Corey said that those who would not step up as leaders would be voted off as they were now only four remaining.

Ramsay’s comment: “Although Bobby was big in stature, he fell short in a number of areas. I kept on waiting for him to emerge, but he never did. That’s why I have to say: Over and out, General Bobby.”

My Opinion

I think that service was a bit better than last service but could be better. Bobby and Jen deserves to go up. I think Bobby went because he was the wrost chef on tonight service even though I would sent Jen home.

My comment: Tonight Bobby was the black Jamie Oliver.

Season 4 Episode 10

The tenth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on June 3, 2008. On that episode, the remaining chefs were given black jackets, a former Hell’s Kitchen winner made a cameo, and one chef totally lost it and had the mother of all meltdowns.

Intro

While going back to the dorms, Jen tried to convince Christina and Corey that she would be liable and was doing her prep work. But, Christina was not trusting her and declared she was glad to have gotten rid of her, but was not to welcome her back. Also, Christina and Corey talked about how they could not believe Petrozza got rid of Louross, with Corey saying that she thought Louross would be there until the end. Corey stated that she lost a friend, referring to Louross, and gained an enemy by getting Jen back. On the patio, Petrozza and Jen talked with Bobby about Matt, with Petrozza asking what was he still doing there, and comparing him to a hemorrhoid.

Trip To The London West Hollywood

The next morning, the phone rang and Corey answered. Then, she told everybody to get outside immediately, with Petrozza and Matt wondering what was going on. The six remaining chefs got into the Hell’s Kitchen SUVs, with blindfolds on, not knowing where they were going. Arrived at the secret destination, all the chefs were lined up in front of Ramsay, who asked them to take off their blindfolds. Bobby stated the sun was so bright he could barely see Ramsay, at the point that he thought he was coming down from the sky. The chefs were each standing in front of one table with a dome on. Then, Ramsay revealed they were on the roof of what would be the new London West Hollywood, where one of them would become the executive chef. After that, Ramsay asked the chefs to lift up their domes, and underneath, black jackets were hidden. The final six put their new jackets on, congratulating each other, with Bobby stating it was a dream come true and that it boosted his confidence to win the competition. After that, two men holding briefcases and wearing black suits came in, and Ramsay asked them to open their cases, revealing $250,000 in cash to the contestants. Matt stated it would have been awesome only to touch or smell it. Ramsay added that if it was not inspiring the chefs, something was missing. Then, everybody went downstairs to see the construction works of the restaurant, with all the chefs wondering what the restaurant would look like, while Ramsay explained the setting. Jen was motivated, saying she would get it or die trying.

Individual Challenge

The contestants came back to Hell’s Kitchen inspired. In the dining room, Ramsay asked them if they were ready for their first individual challenge, which everybody answered they were. So, Ramsay introduced the Main Protein Challenge, where each chef would create one dish based on a given protein. The chefs were standing in front of one dome each, and when Matt lifted his, he got veal. After, Christina got sea bass, Bobby got duck, Jen got beef, and Petrozza got chicken. Before Corey lifted her dome, she guessed pork would be her protein, but a live lobster was underneath the dome, concluding she would use lobster. She was not very comfortable working with lobster despite loving to eat it, saying it was not the best ingredient. Ramsay gave the chefs 45 minutes to create something unique.

When the countdown started, everybody got to work, with Jen being very confident, proclaiming herself as a culinary artist and that her food was a reflection of herself, which was vibrant, creative, and bold. Corey said that for the first individual challenge, she would do something that would not only look good but taste good as well. So, she came up with the idea of a lobster soup. Petrozza had the idea of stuffing his chicken, and Christina acknowledged she had to be careful with the sea bass as the fish had to be the star of the dish. All the chefs rallied to complete and plate their dishes in time, which they all did. When the time was up, Jen acknowledged 45 minutes was really fast, and that it was a very close call.

The first chef to present their dish to Ramsay was Matt. His roasted veal loin was deemed very nice by Ramsay, who also praised the flavor. Matt said he could smell the victory. Christina presented her pan-seared sea bass with tarragon and Beurre Blanc, which was appreciated by Ramsay, who was impressed with the strong start. In the process, she said that challenge was nerve-racking as if she would fuck up, she would be the only one to blame. Because of her strong dish, she gave a high-five to Matt. After that, Petrozza served his prosciutto, duck confit and vegetables stuffed chicken, which impressed Ramsay, who jokingly added he never seen anyone do so much with a breast. Corey revealed her asparagus, pea and lobster soup, but Ramsay did not notice a lot of lobster in it and told he expected she would use the whole lobster. After that, Jen served a sliced rib-eye, and when Ramsay asked her why she would slice it so thinly, she answered she was just trying to do something interesting with it. Then, Ramsay asked if she was happy with it, she said she was, but also showed signs of nervousness as she knew she was known for being cocky and arrogant, but tried to use the challenge as a way to redeem herself. Corey was annoyed by her way of being nervous, and Ramsay asked Jen what was the matter, she answered she was nervous. Ramsay declared her dish was dangerous to execute as the flavor of the meat could go away because of the way it was sliced, but added that she managed to pull it off as the beef was still moist. Finally, Bobby made his own version of a duck soup, which was served with noodles and garlic bread. Ramsay praised the flavor of the soup, but noticed the duck was overcooked. He also added that it would have been perfect if the duck was cooked properly. During deliberation, Ramsay said it was a very close call as they all had great dishes. Then, he asked Christina and Jen to step forward with their dishes, saying it was between both of them. Jen wanted to win so bad because she knew that after all that happened with her, if she would lose, she would be screwed. Ramsay praised both dishes for being clever and highly imaginative. Christina appreciated that compliment from Ramsay, saying they were rare, and Jen congratulated herself saying all the components of her dish were there and that she never saw anybody slice a rib-eye like she did. After some much tense deliberation, Ramsay announced Jen as the winner. She was very emotional about that win and very proud of herself.

Reward

Jen was rewarded with a trip to Las Vegas and a meeting with Season 3 winner Rock. When she learned what was her reward, she became even more emotional, with tears coming out of her eyes. She was also allowed to pick one of her teammates to go with her, so she chose Corey, which shocked everybody, even Corey herself. Matt compared that decision as the cobra and the mongoose hanging out together. Christina was upset about losing the challenge but, on the other hand, did not want to go to Las Vegas with Jen because she was a bitch. While getting ready, Corey declared Jen’s decision of picking her to go on the reward was just showing how fake she was, as she chose the person who she trash-talked the most about. Arrived there, Corey and Jen went to the Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa, and when they entered their suite, they were really excited as both of them got their own bedrooms and bathrooms, Corey said the closet was bigger than her apartment, and they had a private swimming pool outside. Both of them seemed to get along with each other. Later that evening, they went to the Terra Verde restaurant, where they were greeted by Rock, now an executive chef at that restaurant. Jen said it was the best reward ever, and all three of them picked a seat at a table. Rock revealed that if they were that far in the competition, it was because they were deserving it, and urged them to continue what they were doing. Then, Jen said that every time Ramsay was yelling at her was because of her personality. After, Rock reminded the two women that Ramsay was not looking for a great cook and that he was looking for a future chef. Corey appreciated being picked by Jen, but also stated that she was there to win and Jen would not stop her. The three of them clinked their glasses and drank them.

Punishment

Matt, Christina, Petrozza, and Bobby were punished by taking part of Delivery Day. When the first truck arrived, all four of them ran outside, and Christina planned to be a leader on dedicate that day. She told the three men what was written on the papers, and when Matt dropped a box, she told him to keep moving. Matt was annoyed by her behavior, saying she was not a boss and that she should shut her mouth. When Christina suggested they should keep their old herbs in the kitchen while taking the new ones at the back, Matt gave her attitude saying it was ridiculous. When the Sysco truck arrived, Christina continued dedicating job to her teammates, while Petrozza said he was tired and exhausted as every part of his body were aching. When the ice truck came in, Christina was once again leading and waiting for the men, and Sous Chef Gloria suggested they should carry two bags at once. Matt was complaining that his shoulders were killing him because of the weight of the ice, and when he whined that he should be sent home, Christina told him his attitude sucked. Matt told her to shut up and that everybody was in their own shit anyway. Then, Christina reminded Matt that he could quit at anytime if he was not happy, but Matt told her once again to shut up and that she should go home instead, calling her a whiny little fuck in the process. Petrozza noticed Matt was crazy, and Christina reminded that it was not like he carried the ice all by himself and that they all did. Then, Matt told everybody to go fuck themselves, which made Bobby laugh and acknowledge that he really lost it, and was worried about him. Then, Matt sharpened a knife, and declared he should be in Las Vegas at the moment, before angrily throw a towel on the counter.

Before Service

The next day during prep, Matt was feeling inspired and talked out loud about how he was motivated and feeling good, while telling his teammates to eat his ass. Christina said that he was driving her nuts, but Matt did not care and added that he had to be the best during the next service as he needed to send Christina home. Petrozza tried to calm both of them down, and Bobby was annoyed about their constant bickering saying it should end until the beginning of the service. Then, Jen and Corey came back from their reward, and when Christina whispered to Corey that Matt was crazy, Matt heard her and mimicked Lethal Weapon character Martin Riggs by slapping his own head several times by saying that was crazy. Christina acknowledged he snapped and that something inside him broke, and feared it would not be fixed before service. Then, Matt mimicked whining on the counter, and Jen and Corey went to the dorms and got changed. Christina said to Matt he was scary, and he told she needed to grow up, and both of them told each other they do not want to be anywhere near during service. Christina provoked him by asking if he would hit a girl and asked if they could finish with Matt as she could not work with him any longer. Matt took a knife in his hand to check if it was sharp enough, implying that he would unconsciously like to kill her, and told that everybody were just a bunch of fucking pussies around there. When Corey came in the kitchen, she acknowledged there was some tension between the two of them but did not care if they were having issues, only wishing that it would be fixed before service. Christina and Matt told each other to shut up, and Ramsay entered the kitchen and made all the chefs lined up.

When the chefs were lined up, Ramsay reminded them the work was doubled as they had to feed the entire dining room in one kitchen. Jen and Petrozza was dedicated on the appetizer station, Bobby on fish, Corey on garnish, leaving Christina and Matt, who were having a feud going on, on meat. Christina was ready to kick him off the station if he would be a useless piece of meat standing next to her, and Matt said that Christina needed to grow up as she was a nasty little bitch with a lot of cellulite on her ass. Then, Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

Jen’s challenge-winning rib-eye was on the menu that night as a special. When the first order was called, Ramsay reminded the team they had to be twice as fast that service. Meanwhile, a fire erupted in one of Matt’s pan and he tried to blow it by getting the pan two inches from his face. Ramsay told he was pouring oil in his face, called him an idiot, and told him to get the pan in the sink instead. Christina knew that Matt would screw her up and that she would have to watch him despite being half his age. Then, Ramsay told Matt he was watching him like a hawk, which Matt understood. After, Jen, determined to have a good service and be vocal, sent her first risotto to the pass, which was accepted by Ramsay. When Petrozza sent his first appetizer, Ramsay noted the bottom of the plate was very dirty, and asked him to show his hands. Ramsay told Petrozza he was such a dirty pig, which Petrozza agreed, and to wipe the bottom of the plate. His second attempt was accepted, with Ramsay saying he was such a dirty pig despite producing amazing food. Jen sent her second risotto while telling that she knew she was a better chef than anybody in there, but it was too salty, and Ramsay asked her to taste it. Therefore, she had to start again.

30 minutes into service, Jen and Petrozza have sent half of their appetizers to the customers despite some setbacks. Then, the team moved on to entrées, but when Ramsay called an order out, Matt was not able to repeat it several times, infuriating Ramsay. He schooled Matt for that, calling him an idiot, and Christina declared that working with Matt was painful as he never knew what he needed or what he was doing. Ramsay asked both of them to communicate with Bobby and Corey, but Matt did not understand that part, and Ramsay told him to communicate with the team a second time. Bobby asked the team to communicate with Corey for the garnish, and Matt asked her if she was ready with her vegetables. Corey answered she was not and that she needed more time. Because of the lack of communication, Corey was lost on garnishes and acknowledged Matt did not have his head in the game. Ramsay asked Corey why she was finding so difficult to reheat her food, which she answered that nobody was communicating and that it was fucking her up, and she became emotional. Ramsay asked her to show some respect and that her face was like a cow’s back side. That insult made Jen grin, but Corey was determined to get the job done no matter what, despite not working as a team. Then, she sent her bacon to the pass, and Ramsay called the next ticket. Matt convinced Christina to do it as a team despite their earlier clashes, which she agreed. Matt asked Bobby for a time, and Bobby answered that he was ready, so Matt sent his filet mignon to the pass, as well as Christina with her rib-eye. Entrées were finally leaving the kitchen, with the customers being very satisfied. After that, Christina was caught cooking chicken and beef in the same pan by Ramsay, who asked her what if the customer did not like red meat. She took it out of the pan, saying she did it because there was not enough room on the burners. Moments later, Bobby was also caught doing the same mistake as he was cooking salmon and scallops in the same pan. So, Ramsay asked him if he was allergic to seashells, which Bobby answered he was, but he did not give any excuses.

An hour into service, less than half of the customers received their entrées, and they were getting impatient. One order of rib-eye came back for being undercooked. Ramsay was discouraged and schooled Christina and Matt for that mistake. Jen told that Christina was fucking up her rib-eye dish and that she did not have anybody else to blame but herself. When she was refiring it, Ramsay asked Christina for a time, which she said four minutes. Then, he asked her who told her it would take four minutes, and she answered Jen. When Ramsay asked Jen if that was true, she answered it was not, leading Christina to call Jen a liar and full of fucking crap. Then, a chicken order was sent to the pass, but Corey was not ready yet with her garnishes. When a fire erupted, she tried to take it out by putting the pan on the floor, but she burned her hand in the process. Christina noticed it and did not know if she was hurt or not. When Corey told Ramsay about her injury, he told her to go see a medic, but she categorically refused to. Bobby was surprised at how Corey was taking her injury and said she took it like a pussy. Ramsay asked Corey several more times to go see a medic, but she continued refusing over and over, prompting Jen herself to say that she must be cuckoo in the head to talk back to Ramsay like that. Finally, Corey got out in the back store to see a medic, crying and saying that everything was like in slow motion. Meanwhile, in the dining room, customers started to get impatient, so Jean-Philippe asked the staff to serve more water to them. After that, Ramsay caught Matt eating a bit of one of his Wellingtons, and he schooled him for that, saying he was more eating than the customers. Christina said Matt was a complete mess, and pushed him to the side. He continued eating, and Corey got back in the kitchen, bouncing back from her injury, while bringing some pans in the meantime. She got back on her station, acknowledging she needed to keep pushing forward.

After that, Ramsay called the next ticket and asked Christina to repeat the order, which she was not able to do properly. He schooled her for that mistake and told her he would not repeat the order for the fifth time. Then, he asked Matt to repeat the order, which he declared he did not know. So, Ramsay repeated the order, and asked Bobby where was the order John Dory, which he answered he only heard one. When Ramsay revealed one John Dory was waiting on the hot plate, Bobby acknowledged he was ready and sent the other John Dory, saying he was cool as a cucumber despite the others being all stressed out. With that, some entrées finally made it to the dining room, but Matt sent raw Wellingtons and overcooked filets mignons. Ramsay asked everybody to come and touch them, but when Matt could not answer one of his questions, Ramsay became even more furious, and Corey said Matt was like a 5-year-old in a 35-year-old body because he did not know when to stop. Matt went to the hot plate to check the ticket, giving the excuse of a migraine he was having at the same time, which discouraged Ramsay once again. When Matt got back on his station, he told he was busy getting yelled at again, but Ramsay heard him, called him a fucking idiot, and asked him what did he just say. Matt repeated what he said, but Ramsay reminded him he sent overcooked meat, which Matt blamed his teammates for, saying he was a great team player who did not have team players around. Corey noticed Matt was going down in flames when he grabbed a hot pan with his bare hand, and Petrozza said he was fried. When Matt wished to be sent home and a vacation, Bobby said that something bad was going on inside of his brain. When Ramsay called the next ticket, Christina asked Matt for a time, but he gave the excuse that he was working through a migraine. Corey said that his excuse was bullshit as he should go through it instead of being a crybaby. She asked him for a time, and he answered three minutes after hesitating. Then, Ramsay called the team a bunch of fucking losers, and asked Matt what was going, which he could not answer properly. Once again, he blamed that mistake on his migraine, and ripped a bag containing a headache pill, which he took in the kitchen, in front of everybody. Ramsay told Sous Chef Scott to take a look at that situation, and Bobby laughed at Matt, who said it was not funny. After, Ramsay called Matt forward to tell him that he was having a migraine ever since the first time he saw him. Matt was arguing with Ramsay, telling him he did not feel anything in his hands, so Ramsay took him by the hand, pulled him in the back store, and kicked him out of the kitchen, ordering him to go in the dorms to lay down. On his way, Matt told he wanted to work through it, but Ramsay yelled him to get out. Ramsay returned to the kitchen mocking his excuse, and Jen said that Matt was not taking any responsibility for his mistakes, adding that her brain was about to explode but she was not giving up. Meanwhile, in the dorms, Matt laid on his bed and put a pillow on his head. In the kitchen, when Ramsay called the next order, Christina noticed some burnt rice still sitting on the appetizer station, and Ramsay took the boiling pot, revealed the rice, and when he asked who put it on, Jen revealed herself, acknowledging the mistake, leading Ramsay to kick her out of the kitchen as well. After, he said to Christina that she was standing next to it for an hour without noticing it, so he kicked her out, as well as everybody else, shutting down the service.

Post-Mortem

Matt came back in the kitchen later than everybody else, and when the chefs were lined up, Ramsay said he did not expect a service pathetic like that from the final six. He concluded by asking them to nominate two people for elimination by coming to a group consensus. While being dismissed, Matt raised his hand for a private conversation with Ramsay, and said to him that he was still having a migraine and asked him if he should give up or stay in the competition. Ramsay answered that he could not make that decision for him but that he would like to see some manliness from him. He finished by saying that if he was in his shoes, he would fight for his place big time. After that, Matt went back to the dorms and joined his teammates to discuss the nominees. While going back, he said that he was deserving to still be in the competition, and that if Ramsay would not want him to be there anymore, he would have been gone by that moment.

Arrived on the patio, Matt learned that his teammates already nominated him unanimously, but he retorted that anybody who would want to nominate him would be a waste of time as he would fight for it, and concluded that they could all fuck themselves and kiss his ass. Those insults discouraged Corey, but Matt was convinced that all his teammates would go home before him, and he left the conversation, while Corey flipped the birds in his back and acknowledged he was out of his mind. Bobby laughed out loud at the situation, saying Matt was a loose cannon and deserved to be kicked off the universe. Despite thinking all his teammates would go before him, Matt was already in his bedroom packing his bags. For their second nominee, Corey suggested Jen for her poor communication, which Christina agreed with, but Jen did not agree saying that everybody had poor communication that night. She also added that Christina had a worst performance than her, and that if she would go home that night, it would be bullshit. Then, she asked Bobby who should go up, which he answered that the meat station went down hard, therefore nominating Christina and Matt. Then, Corey announced she would like to put herself up because of her poor performance, saying she was not having a problem going up for elimination. After that, she asked Petrozza who he would be nominating, but he said it was a tough decision as he did not want to take somebody’s dream away from them.

Elimination

Petrozza announced Matt was the first nominee because of his poor performance during service and his poor attitude during the previous few days. After, Corey announced Christina was the second nominee because she and Matt sunk the meat station, but added that she should be nominated instead. Ramsay agreed with her, and called her down along with the two original nominees. Ramsay said Corey she seemed to get weaker as they go on, but she insisted she should be up but not be eliminated as she fucked up royally. She also added that despite her injury, she did not give up like Matt did. Matt insisted that despite his migraine, he was not the worst cook that night and named Christina in that position when he was asked to. When Ramsay told Christina she had been only cooking for three years, she cleared up that she had only been cooking professionally for three years and had cook for a long time. When Ramsay said she should get more experience, she got emotional and revealed she thought it was more about heart than experience, and said she never gave up for one second. After that, Ramsay said the person who would go home was going for all the right reasons. Therefore, he eliminated Matt, but told him to not stop and wished his migraine would clear up. During his exit interview, Matt received a retrospective montage of his run.

After Matt left, Petrozza revealed he was happy to see him go and hoped he would be in a different state while locking the door behind. Then, Ramsay urged the final five to go back to the dorms and think about uniting as a team, before dismissing them. While being dismissed, Bobby said everybody was a strong competitor and that being in the finals would be brutal. Christina acknowledged she was getting stronger as the competition was going on.

Ramsay’s comment: “There once was a boy named Matt, whose kitchen performance fell flat. He was far from neat, miserable on meat. So I kicked him out, and that’s that.”

My Opinion

The service was rubbish with two chef leave before all the team leave. Matt was off his head and need to go home.

My comment: Matt said he got a headache but he give me a headache.

Season 4 Episode 9

The ninth episode of Season 4 of Hell’s Kitchen aired on Fox, on May 27, 2008. On that episode, both teams created their own menus, Ramsay made a shocking move at elimination, where one chef made an even more shocking one.

Intro

Back in the dorms, Matt apologized to Corey for letting her down, but she said that it did not matter any longer. Then, Corey acknowledged Matt gave up and let the team down during the previous service, and suggested he should be better at something else despite enjoying cooking, like being a car salesman. Matt acknowledged he had to work his ass off in order to stay, and remembered that Ramsay said he was on borrowed time. After that, Bobby declared that from that moment on, he would let his food talk, adding that Jen was a big baby and that what she did was not impressing at all. Bobby even compared the blue team’s situation with Jen as walking on eggshells.

Team Challenge

The next morning, both teams lined up in the dining room, where Ramsay greeted them. Ramsay revealed the big issue that everybody was still struggling with, which was timing. That statement led him to introduce the Relay Challenge, where both teams would cook scallops, John Dory and chicken from the existing Hell’s Kitchen menu, with only one chef in each kitchen at a time being given 6 minutes to cook and 15 seconds to communicate to the next one. The blue team having one extra member, were given 15 seconds to decide which of them would sit out. Jen immediately convinced Bobby and Petrozza to make Louross sit out. That plan worked, which annoyed Louross, questioning Jen’s judgment saying that if he really got no skills, why was he still in the competition. When Ramsay asked who was sitting out, Louross angrily raised his hand, and Ramsay was surprised as he was moving fast in the kitchen. Louross declared he was surprised as well. Then, both teams lined up beside their respective Sous Chefs, with Bobby acknowledging the blue team did not win as much challenges as the red team, and that it was starting to hurt.

After Ramsay finished his countdown, Matt and Petrozza ran to their respective kitchens, and Petrozza poached the chicken during the first 15 seconds. When Matt was running, Ramsay jokingly said the earth was shaking when he did. The first thing Matt did in the red kitchen was also poach the chicken, knowing it would take 10 minutes to poach properly. Petrozza, wanting a win very badly, was looking for some pans to put garnishes in for the following person. In the dining room, Christina was nervous as they were far from the kitchen so they could not see what was going on. When time was up, Matt said 6 minutes was not a lot of time even though it seem like it was.

On the next round, it was Christina and Bobby who went up for their respective teams. During the 15 seconds relay, Matt was too quick communicating with Christina that she did not even understood what he said. On the blue side, Bobby was very satisfied with the information Petrozza gave him. In the red kitchen, Christina took the chicken out of the boiling pot, but it was still raw. So, she cooked it in a pan, and Corey saw that, knowing that would be a problem as the chicken would likely become overcooked. In the dining room, Jen was very confident and believed in herself.

On the final round, Jen and Corey finished for their teams. During the 15 seconds relay, Christina told Corey about the chicken being raw, and in the blue kitchen, Bobby did not say anything as Jen was constantly talking over him. Despite that, she was confident to finish strong as Bobby and Petrozza got all she needed right there, so it was very easy for her to plate. On the red side, Corey started panicking because there was some things that were not ready yet and were located at different places in the kitchen. Both of them rallied to plate their dishes, and in the dining room, their teammates were encouraging them. Louross stated that as long as Jen was putting herself on top saying her dishes are flawless and perfect, he would love her to prove herself. Both women plated and served their dishes in time.

The first dish that was tasted were the scallops. Ramsay noticed the red team’s dish was missing the salad, which Corey said she forgot, and the blue team’s eggs were overcooked. When Ramsay tasted the red team’s dish, he said the scallops were nice and seasoned beautifully, and for the blue team, the scallops were raw in the middle, but Jen was in denial about it saying Ramsay did not know what he was talking about. The red team scored the first round, giving them the lead 1-0. The next dish was the John Dory. For the red team, Ramsay said all the components were there, but the sauce was too thick and the presentation was dreadful. For the blue team, Ramsay noticed the sauce was missing, and when Jen mumbled about it, he schooled her on her laid-back attitude and mumbling, saying they were in a professional kitchen and that they were chefs. Then, she declared the sauce was burnt, so she left it on the side. After deliberation, where he said the blue team was missing the sauce and the red team’s presentation was shocking, Ramsay gave the point to the blue team, tying the score at 1 each. The final dish was the chicken. When Ramsay tasted the red team’s dish, he said the chicken was cooked beautifully, every components were there, except the baby leaves. When he tasted the blue team’s dish, the chicken was also cooked beautifully and moist, but it was missing the sauce. After deliberation where both dishes were missing one ingredient, Ramsay declared the red team winners. Matt was very happy about the win as it was another one for his team, and Petrozza knew that Jen was the only one to blame because she forgot to put the sauce. Ramsay added that if she would have put the sauce, she would have won it for her team.

The red team was rewarded with a day at the beach, and were transported there in convertibles. Matt was so happy about that win that he even stated that red was now his favorite color. While getting ready, Christina declared she was looking so pale as she did not see the sunshine in weeks and was very excited to have a great day. Corey was excited about the convertible trip. Arrived at the beach, Matt was excited to see Ramsay wearing a wet suit and holding surf boards. All three of them put their wet suits on and learned how to surf. Matt said even though he banged his head on the bottom of the ocean, he had a great time, Christina said she was happy as surfing was an experience of a lifetime, and Corey said she wanted to keep her cool and not look like an idiot. Then, Jean-Philippe arrived and handed the red team towels. Ramsay was seen surfing on his own, with Matt thinking he was enjoying it more than all of them. After, Ramsay picked Jean-Philippe up, and threw him in the water.

Punishment

The blue team was punished by being the Hell’s Kitchen maintenance crew, spending all day taking care of the restaurant, cleaning the red carpets as well. Louross was envious as he wanted to go to the beach as well. The first thing the team did was scrubbing the Hell’s Kitchen sign outside, and Petrozza said it was a mess. At one point, Bobby accidentally sprayed some liquid soap in Petrozza’s face. After, all of them got into white suits, but Louross wanted the punishment to be fun, so he entertained his teammates by putting the suit all over his head and walking around like that. Jen said she was more laughing at him than with him, and Bobby was sick and tired of her bossy attitude when she told him to hold on. Then, the two of them got into an argument where Bobby said to Jen that she was not running anything and that he was, with Jen asking who he was talking to. Later, all four of them were cleaning the red carpet, with Jen saying that she was tired of punishments.

Create New Menus

The red team arrived from their reward and entered the restaurant by walking on the red carpet the blue team have just steamed. Louross tried to tell them not to, but they did it anyway, leading him to declare he was tired to waste his breath as nobody was showing him respect.

The next morning, both teams lined up in the dining room, where Ramsay announced they would get rid of the menu for the next service, and that both teams would create their own menus. He gave one hour to the teams, who headed back to the dorms. Christina was excited about that as it was the first time they got to make some inputs on the menu. On the red side, all three members were working as a team, shooting ideas, which Matt really appreciated as they were bonding as a team. On the blue side, Jen was dictating the process, not listening to her teammates’ ideas and only putting her inputs. Louross was so annoyed by this that he stopped writing down when she moved on to her desserts, and lit himself a cigarette. In the end, Matt, wearing gigantic orange plastic glasses on his head, was very happy and confident about his team’s menu, while nobody was on the blue side except Jen. Louross was annoyed by Jen’s way of controlling everything and shutting everybody down, and Bobby was as well, saying he wanted a good menu, but would let Jen hang herself. Louross stated it was not a blue team’s menu, it was a Jen’s menu.

Before Service

In the red kitchen, both teams were lined up, and Ramsay asked them if they were excited and confident, which everybody answered they were. Christina recited the red team’s menu, and Ramsay was excited, saying they would be strong contenders if they could execute it properly. Matt declared he was happy to be teammate with Christina and Corey, even stating that he wished to open a restaurant with those two. When Louross recited the blue team’s menu, Ramsay was making questioning expressions at each item. Louross noticed it and understood why he was making those faces. Ramsay stated their menu sounded horrible, leading Louross to say that the zucchini and squash-wrapped halibut was Jen’s idea. When Ramsay asked Louross if he was happy with the menu, he answered he was not really, discouraging Ramsay. Jen was not happy about Louross throwing her under the bus, but also wondered why he did not talk about it back in the dorms when they were creating the menu. Ramsay asked Jen what were her inputs, which she answered almost every item, leading Ramsay to conclude that she came up with nearly 70% of the menu. Ramsay thought the menu was hideous, and Petrozza said that Jen wanted to be the captain of the team but she drove the team towards an iceberg. Ramsay asked the blue team to change their menu and urged Louross to find his voice, which he did. Bobby also came up with new ideas, stating that he knew Ramsay would allow them to make some changes and that he had it all planned. After, Jen recited the menu, which Ramsay liked much more than the previous one, and asked both teams to start prep.

In the red kitchen, morale was at its best and Matt declared once again he was happy about the menu, which was a result of them working as a team. In the blue kitchen, Jen was still bullying Louross about how he had to open up and say what he was thinking, but Louross said he did but nobody listened to him. Petrozza noticed Jen could be a bitch, but acknowledged that Louross could be more vocal. While Louross was still complaining that nobody was listening to him, Ramsay asked Jean-Philippe to open Hell’s Kitchen.

Dinner Service

Each customer would have the choice of ordering from the blue or red menu, with the popularity of the menus determining that night’s winning team. The first orders came in even for both kitchens. When the first ticket got called in the red kitchen, Christina was worried that Matt could not execute her pasta appetizer, but hoped that he could. The first pasta appetizer Matt sent to the pass was too salty. Ramsay made everybody taste it and asked Matt to start again. Corey acknowledged Matt was careless as he was making stupid mistakes, and declared she would be on her ass all service long as she did not want to lose. In the blue kitchen, appetizers were going out at a good rate. However, Ramsay caught Petrozza putting lettuce in his appetizers without washing it. Ramsay schooled him on that mistake and told him to keep his station clean. Petrozza acknowledged his station was a mess as usual, and Ramsay said P was for Petrozza, but was also for Pig.

Finally, the red team’s appetizers came out as well, but Jean-Philippe returned an undercooked pasta dish to the kitchen, leading Ramsay to tell Matt would have to refire one quickly. Moments later, two more pasta dishes were sent back to the red kitchen for salty sauce, discouraging Ramsay. When Ramsay found out Matt was sweating in the pasta, he understood that was what caused the saltiness of the dish. Matt put a white bandana over his head, and Corey demanded him to not let the team down and work harder, but Matt started giving her attitude. Then, Ramsay asked why he was behaving like a baby and schooled him on his attitude and the saltiness of his pasta dishes. After that, yet another pasta dish came back for being bland, discouraging Ramsay, who asked the whole team to taste it. Christina was discouraged as well, and Corey asked her to take over the appetizer station, dedicating Matt nowhere. He said to never do that to anybody as he would have wanted to keep trying. In the blue kitchen, the team moved on to entrées and were delivering them very quickly, but perhaps a little too quickly as one order of steak came back in the kitchen for being undercooked. A discouraged Ramsay told Louross about the mistake, and Louross showed a clearly disappointed face, leading Ramsay to mimic him and say he was performing for the Oscars. Ramsay schooled Louross, saying that if his cooking was as good as his acting, he would be talented. Louross acknowledged he was going downhill when another order came back. Ramsay asked him, along with Jen, to touch it, got on his knees and told it was raw, calling Louross a fucking idiot in the process. Jen acknowledged Louross was having a horrible performance, and a minor fire erupted on his station. Another steak dish came back, and Ramsay told Louross he was putting his team in the shit. Louross declared he was now hating the word filet mignon, and stated that if he would ever see another filet mignon, he would throw it at somebody’s face. Then, Ramsay threatened Louross with the shutdown of the kitchen if another steak would come back.

In the red kitchen, Matt moved on to the garnish station trying to redeem himself, but the first Brussels sprouts he brought to the plate were disgusting. He apologized to Ramsay, who told his teammates he gave up. Matt insisted he did not give up and threw a pan away in anger. Corey schooled him on his behavior and threatened him to be kicked out the team if he would continue. This led the two of them to have an argument, where Corey said he was acting like a girl, and Matt saying that she was a bitch. For the second time of the service, Matt was kicked off a station. In the blue kitchen, Louross finally delivered a properly cooked steak, but the table who ordered it already left. Ramsay became furious, ripped that table’s ticket and threw it at Louross, who declared he had never been that disappointed at himself in his life. He also added it was the first time a table walked out on him.

Two hours into service, the blue team only delivered half of their entrées, while the red team served nearly all of theirs. Corey and Christina were having a great communication while leaving Matt doing nothing on the side, sending out many entrées. Christina herself was surprised about that because of those two’s problems at the beginning of the season. Ramsay noticed Matt was doing nothing and congratulated him for becoming the ass of the red kitchen. Meanwhile, the blue kitchen was moving on to desserts, but Bobby was not comfortable working on that station because it was a mess. Jen came over to clean it up, and when Bobby called her “honey”, she did not like it, saying her name was Jennifer. She stated she did not know who Bobby thought he was, but needed to call her by her first name instead of “honey”, “baby” or any other king of nickname like that. The first soufflé Jen brought to the plate was raw, infuriating Ramsay who broke a plate in the process, and told her to fuck off. Jen said it was not her fault, but despite that, Bobby rallied his team to complete their desserts. Everybody was helping, and in the red kitchen, Christina vocally led the dessert station, much to Matt’s annoyance. Both teams rallied to complete their orders of desserts, and when they did, they congratulated each other.

Post-Mortem

When both teams were lined up, Ramsay reminded it was really red team against blue team because every customer got the choice between either menu. Ramsay declared the teams were almost even on the quantity, so he based his decision on the quality. He reminded the chefs that they were off to a good start, but something happened halfway and food started to come back. The red team was stalled because of the pasta, and the blue team was because of the filets mignons. Then, Ramsay asked Matt to take his bandana off as he was not Homer Simpson, and told him he gave up and was sloppy because of his sweat in the food. For the blue team, Ramsay reminded the meat station was going down in flames, referring to Louross’ constant mistakes. Ramsay named the blue team losers, and Petrozza “Best of the Worst” because he led the team to a strong start on appetizers despite being such a mess during service. Then, Ramsay asked him to nominate two of his teammates for elimination.

Back in the dorms, Petrozza was not happy about being in that position, saying it sucked. During deliberation, Jen said she did not do anything wrong and she was deserving to be there, by adding that Louross performed far worse than she did. Then, Petrozza pulled Louross aside, and Louross told him it would be poison if he would go home over Jen because of her attitude. On the red side, Matt and Christina talked about who Petrozza would nominate and quickly said that Jen should go because of her attitude. Bobby was not worried to be nominated because he was more experienced than Louross and Jen, not only in cooking but outside the kitchen as well. Petrozza considered Louross for being the weakest team member, Jen for her poor attitude, and Bobby for being a strong competitor.

Elimination

Petrozza announced his first nominee was Louross because he lacked cooking abilities, and Jen as his second because of her thought of being on top of everybody despite having a lot to learn. Both nominees were called down, and Ramsay announced he would do something he never done before. Then, he asked Petrozza who should go home. That responsibility dedication shocked everybody, and despite everybody wanting Jen gone, Petrozza said Ramsay should eliminate Louross. Ramsay agreed with that decision and eliminated Louross for being the worst performer of the night and lacking cooking abilities.

Team Switch

Immediately after Louross left, Ramsay declared he was not done. He reminded the chefs he gave them total control of the menus, and that they let him down. Then, he called Matt, from the winning team, down, and Matt joined Jen on the chopping block. Ramsay told Jen that even though she was able to manipulate her team, she could not manipulate him, and after, he told Matt he was lucky to be there. When Ramsay told Matt he was out of his depth, Matt responded that he was not, and Ramsay asked both of them to take their jackets off. Christina was euphoric, thinking they would be eliminated, but Ramsay transferred both of them back to their original teams, much to everybody else’s dismay. Before dismissing the chefs, Ramsay announced that the following day, they would start again. While going back to the dorms, Matt declared he felt his heart stopping as he thought he would be going home, adding he did not want to go back to the blue team, but needed to do what he had to do and hope he would make it to the end. Corey stated that getting Jen back would be challenging but that she and Christina would be in charge of the red team. After, Jen thought the red team were intimidated by her and stated that she was not there to make friends.

Ramsay’s comment: “Louross was never short on energy. He was just short… on cooking ability.”

Louross never received the walk of shame sequence, and his exit interview was never aired.

My Opinion

The red team was better than the blue team tonight. Jen choose 60% of the menu from her idea. Matt and Louross was rubbish tonight. Louross and Jen to go up. Louross to go.

My comment: Louross may not win a Michelin star but he may win an Oscar
